Things James and Q Never Thought They’d Say ...
When James Bond and Q (Rembrandt “Remy” Holmes) married in my WaterVerse series, they decided rather quickly that they wanted to have children. With the assistance of one of Q’s minions who offered to be their surrogate, little Miranda Ceit (Mir) was the first to come along. She has her Da’s blonde hair and icy blue eyes, but was blissfully spared his ears. Five years later saw the arrival of twins Andrew Oliver and William Aleksandr who are the spitting image of Q. The Holmes’ genes breed true, for better or for worse. And though James and Q have nearly forty years combined experience taking out some of the worst criminals and terrorists the world had never known -- Blofeld and Silva and Carver and White and Le Chiffre and even that pompous git, Auric Goldfinger -- 007 (retired) and the Quartermaster of His Majesty’s Secret Service frequently find themselves out manned and out gunned by three littles under the age of eight. One of the greatest changes in their lives, however are the things that pop out of their mouths in response to the things that wee Mir, Drew, and Will do on a regular basis. Q once thought, “002 do be sure not to drop the exploding banana peeler into the tank of weaponised piranha. It’s essential to your mission, and I will make you go after it,” was the strangest thing he’d ever have to say. That was before he and James became parents.
