Here is the piece that got me started down the road of water etching. I had an idea for this after reading about the radium girls and wanted to add just another level of interest but didn’t want to use my usual methods. After thinking for a bit it hit me to give water etching a try and it worked so darn well with the radium symbol that I knew I was going to use it again. And I did. This is the finished print using #hardground,#softground, #wateretch and #aquatint. It is printed on 7.5"x10" German etching paper for a print exchange themed "Things You Should Have learned in School Had You Been Listening". This print is titled "Sempre Ubi Sub Ubi" which means always wear underwear but literally says always where under where. That's about all I remember from the three years of Latin I took in high school. Included in the print are some things I would have learned had I been listening (or doing my translations) like the conjugation of to be and Gaul being divided into three parts.
