In 2004, I moved from Cornwall, where I helped run a holiday village with my parents, to Somerset. I knew noone and had 2 small children, so finding work to fit around school hours, term times etc. was very difficult. I saw an advert, in my local newspaper, looking for Avon Representatives. I called the number and a lovely lady came to see me. I joined that day and she left me with 20 brochures and a couple of roads to try and find customers. I was so nervous, but I knew, if I didn't give it a go, I'd never find out if it was worked. I was over the moon when I found a couple if orders in the brochures I collected. Over the next couple of weeks I went out every other day, delivering and collecting my brochures. My first order wasn't massive, but it covered my costs, plus a bit extra for a treat. I took the step into Leadership quickly, as I could see the benefits of building a team and teaching them to do what I did. 16 years on, I don't regret a moment! I've met some truly lovely people, made some incredible friends, won some amazing prizes, visited some wonderful places and had experiences that only a few people get to do/see. I earn enough to afford the luxuries in life, like family holidays, Christmas and gifts for my team. The best thing about the Avon Opportunity, is watching peoples lives change and see them achieve their goals.
