This scene broke my heart. It's like she feels she deserves people treating her like shit. She's just so used to it.

There's something about poj for me where nearly single scene just looks so overpolished and staged, to the point where it has been utterly distracting from the pig slaughter scene onward! Some conversations and scenes also have me going 🧐🤔 screenwriter and director, I'm not sure this is as charming as you seem to think it is.
Watching Dr. Kathleen Kellett's The Monster & The Child video series. It's looking really good so far.
The Sheep Detectives feels like a kids’ movie for adults. It’s not quite hitting the tone of a cozy mystery, although I think it’s trying to. The accent work is a bit lazy, the racial politics of the town are a little iffy (we are introduced to 4 people the murdered man doesn’t like in the first five minutes, 2 are Black men and one is an Asian woman, it’s just. Interesting) and it feels like they are over-justifying the sheep’s ability to be detectives by making them basically sentient and only livestock bc they use at-will amnesia to cover over every uncomfortable experience. Plus it’s using the sheep to explain EVERYTHING instead of trusting the audience to watch the actors act. I may not finish it.
God is a big invisible lamb-beaver made of bread is a killer line though.
Also HOLY SMOKES is Will Byers so aro and/or ace coded. Oh my gosh. "i'm not going to fall in love", thinks Mike and El are being gross, the whole vibe of everybody's falling in love but I'm still here, "it's not my fault you don't like girls", just wanting to vibe with his friends!!!

I love how they're all playing the game and Chishiya is there, just eating his snacks 😂
The Last Duel [R] ★★★★★
So I've been dying to see this one since the trailer came out this summer and it did NOT disappoint. Gritty and difficult to watch (I had trouble with it at some parts) but the writing, execution and performances were brilliant- especially Jodie Comer and Adam Driver. I hadn't seen any of Driver's film work before this- I'm going to have to change that because what the f*ck this man can act! I knew Jodie was going to be flawless but she still managed to leave me speechless. Her ability to seamlessly and subtlety portray multiple perspectives of Marguerite de Carrouges (apart from hers- the truth) is something to see. I've been a fan of hers since The White Princess so I knew she was going to body this part. This was HER movie and I'm crossing my fingers for an Oscar nom 👀.
In the interest of keeping this spoiler free, I'm going to leave it there but any one has concerns or questions about the movie or the subject matter feel free to message or comment here!
