since i got the crygi anon earlier here's a bit of We All Start As Strangers, the crygi wip that i started in november 2020 that i'm trying to resurrect

“Okay, time for a change of scenery,” Jackie said, looking at pictures on her camera. “Let’s move to the trees. And we’ll go this way so the sunset is in the back.”

“Sounds good.” Crystal grabbed Gigi’s hand like it was the most natural thing in the world and led her over, following behind Jackie.

“Crystal, you sit up against the tree,” she paused and waited for her to do so. “And Gigi, you sit on her lap.”

Before Crystal could process exactly what Jackie had just said, Gigi was already climbing on top of her, straddling her lap. She was light but Crystal definitely felt her presence.

“This okay?” she whispered, looking down at Crystal through her lashes.

“Yeah,” she whispered back, not wanting to disturb whatever it was she felt between them. Crystal’s hands snaked their way around Gigi’s waist, and she managed to tear her gaze away from Gigi to look over at Jackie.

“Good,” Jackie said and started directing them again. “Gigi, wrap your arms around Crystal’s shoulders. Crystal, yours are great where they are.”

“I don’t need your help with anything, Foxx,” McCorkell says as soon as they walk out the door, dropping the polite act once the coaches are out of earshot.

“Good, because I wouldn’t fucking help you anyway, McCorkell,” Denali retorts. “And you better stay out of my way on the road and on the ice.”

“As long as you stay out of mine. And I’ll try to keep this out of your way, too.” She flips her off, and her championship ring shines big and bright on her middle finger.

Denali rolls her eyes and turns to walk away before they start fighting in the middle of the locker room. It’s going to be a long fucking season.

We All Start As Strangers - photoshoot blind date crygi

“Looks like you two are hitting it off quite nicely,” Jackie said as her smile grew even wider. “And the camera loves you already.”

“What?” Crystal asked. She didn’t even know the photoshoot started.

“Look!” Jackie held her camera up, showing them some candids she’d snapped of the two of them talking to each other. Crystal felt Gigi behind her, looking over her shoulder at the pictures.

Crystal had to admit that they did look good together in the pictures. And she already looked smitten with the way she was smiling at Gigi in some of them.

Serendipitous - blind date-ish jasco

It’s obvious to everyone but the poor girl herself that she’s being stood up. The earnestness in her voice makes Bosco’s chest ache.

“If she’s not here when I come back, I’m going to have to give your table away, Miss.”

“She’ll be here,” she says, somehow still sounding confident after how long she’s been there, dateless.

The waiter doesn’t seem convinced as he walks past Bosco, and when he starts talking shit to the bartender, the ache in Bosco’s chest turns into a fiery rage. They can’t stand jerks like this.

“I would love you forever if you did.”

“You already do. But I’ll do it,” Crystal agreed. She could almost never say no, especially not to Jackie.

“Great! There’s just one more thing. This photoshoot is also a blind date.”

“Jackie!”

She’d been trying to set Crystal up for over a year now, basically ever since Crystal had introduced her to Jan. She always said she wanted to return the favor and find someone that Crystal could love as much as she loved Jan. So far Crystal had been able to steer clear, preferring to just focus on her art and her schoolwork right now, but it seemed as though she had run out of luck.

“No! You can’t change your mind now. You said you’d do it!”
