Big question. Should I create a 7 foot version of WARHAMSTER 40K! Let me know your thoughts. #warhamster #warhammer40k #warhammer #cosplay #lifegoals #awesome https://www.instagram.com/p/B3LxvjkH2Ap/?igshid=1gdm37kmt41j9
Redwall 40K
In the Dark Future of the Year 40,000 there is only war..... and furries.
Beware the scalekin, the featherborn, the vermin.
While the lowly Imperial Mouseguard fills the trenches, we rise above. We are the Abbeystartes. The elite warriors of the space marine orders in service of the Eternal Abbot. We fight to keep the Imperium of Fur alive in the face of threats both within and without. Whether it be hares of the Longwatch scouting alone, assault squirrels jump packing their way over enemy lines, hedgeyweapons devastators laying down cover fire, badger terminators going toe to toe with demons, otterpothecaries mixing cleansing salves, mole tech priests keeping our war machines working.... we fight.
For all Furfolk.
For the Abbot.

Yes, I did actually get to play this tonight and it was every bit as fun as it sounds. I highly suggest going to the twitter feed of @NoContextGames and reading some of the quotes.
I played a mole because I knew that it would be great fun to hurr and burr the unique dialect that Jacques gave them. Little did I know that the GM had planned for us to meet another Mole Tech priest in game JUST so we could have an impenetrable conversation nobody else could understand. He even moved the npc further back in the story so he could hear me speak more and then mimic my in character dialect. I was terribly flattered!
The whole thing started as a joke a long time ago due to this piece of artwork by Ursula Vernon:
On Friday we all started joking around about the concept again and it got so deep into our group Zeitgeist that our dear VanHavoc decided that since his birthday party was Sunday, he was going to finally run the game.
In a frenzy of rule modifications and game balance he created a squad of pre-gen characters for us to play using the Savage Worlds system (the system he was running that weekend before this game came up). The game went so smoothly and we had so much fun that now we are going to be revising our normal game schedule to try and make this nerdy joke concept into an actual campaign.
I really shouldn't be surprised if it succeeds in becoming our next scheduled game. If we can run a whole campaign of a post apocalyptic Distopian My Little Ponies then why not Redwall 40k?

The one thing that was missing from our Longwatch Squad was a Badger Terminator (or Badgernator as I like to say). Luckily I was able to make one for us before the night was done.
It's an old joke, but I couldn't resist illustrating it. My boyfriend's a Warhammer buff, and let me borrow his source books on how to paint space marines.
Warhammer 40K is a trademark of Games Workshop. This is offered in the spirit of parody. - Ursula Vernon
Lone Wolf Progress
More painting. The shield is starting to look decent.
Need to spend a lot of time on the hammer and the cloak now. Not sure what kind of metal I want to paint for the hammer head and chest emblem.

Broodlord Progress
Painting practice on a broodlord; its a really nice model to work with.
I was rather lucky with it (being a finecast model) as there were no bubbles at all.
I'm still doing some research for how to highlight the chitin nicely without making it look too bright and cheery. The talons need a lot of work too.
A shield is totally a viable weapon :P
A new lone wolf. Potentially part of my conversion comp entry. Just need to see if I have a flying base long enough to take an unfortunate chaos marine getting slammed by that shield :3
