I recently went on a day trip with a friend of mine to Nottingham, UK to visit Warhammer World, and it was as geeky as I thought it would be and it did being up a lot of nostalgia for my teenage years.
I must of been around thirteen when I first started playing Warhammer 40k. I wasn't very good and pretty much lost every game with my Eldar army (mainly beacuse I always wanted to include my avatar, even in low point games) however I just loved playing the game.
I then became obsessed with Blood Bowl, especially playing my beloved Goblin team which again never won a game but was a blast to play. It was so much fun using Fungus the Loon, or squigs especially when they end up ploughing into their own team mates.
My plan is to get into model painting as I don't think I will have time to get back into the gaming side of the hobby (although my mate is trying to get me to start a 40k army). I would like to be able create dioramas plus I have few table top games that have miniatures to be painted as well. I did purchase the Warhammer Age of Sigmar Warrior starter set and paints and tool set, hopefully that is a good starting point as I am starting from scratch again.
