What would Wanderer!MC do with the Khaenriahn(s)? I can't remember if they remember much about Genshin, but might they remember that the Jester is Khaenriahn and contact him? That would be an interesting letter. (And not just because nobody is supposed to know Pierro is Khaenriahn)

'Hi, found one of your Khaenriahns. Come pick him up before the Archon realises there are survivors.'

I think they would at least remember that the Tsarista had two Khaenri'ahians as Harbingers, thus debating whether to take the risk to contact her despite the future issue with Dottore...

Still, if they do send the letter, I think the Tsaritsa would be no doubt surprised before signaling both her Jester and Captain to come speak to her... in private.

Cut to sometime later, and Wanderer!MC was getting the poor Khaenri'ahian comfy and hears rapid knocking on their door, and when they open it, they see a frazzled looking older man plus some guy in a helmet-

...Ah, wait, these two were Pierro and Capitano, right?!?!

Obviously, Nagamasa and his entourage can’t spend the whole day everyday pestering MC to move into Tatarasuna to work for their infirmary; but whenever someone runs into the “nameless apothecary” while out inspecting or transporting cargo and whatnot, the offer always comes up no matter how many times it’s been rejected.

Really, even without being loyal to the Shogun, MC consistently saying no every single time is mind-boggling. The pay is good, they’ll have very good social standing as a proper physician or even just as a very competent assistant to the quack, hell the Shogunate could probably pull a few strings to give MC some more training and better resources — so what gives??

Niwa’s the first one to actually broach the topic about why MC always refuses them.

It obviously has to do with the elephant in the room.

Let’s face it.

Not only is MC apparently not human, the resemblance between them and the Electro Archon is uncanny. Get MC to braid their hair and they could almost pass for a body double.

Almost. Their eyes could not be anymore different. Or maybe that’s Niwa and Nagamasa superimposing the image of a grumpy cat over MC’s face.

MC is also much shorter, but neither man is about to risk his kneecaps for saying that out loud.

Is it because they’re worried about being “recognized” by Shogunate officers and affiliates? Is there some kind of family dispute going on between MC and the Shogun? Are they estranged, maybe?

They don’t know. They might have to ask MC directly, and the latter has made it very clear that their “family” is a very touchy subject. (And they really don’t think it’s their place to pry into MC’s personal business, but they’re also a tad nosy.)

They play a round of rock-paper-scissors and Nagamasa loses.

Nagamasa: 🗿 (Oh, I don’t feel good about this…)

Niwa: 😉 “I’ll leave you to it, sir~!”

Now Nagamasa is loitering at the domain entrance to the Shakkei Pavilion, trying to figure out how to announce himself; and MC shows up right behind him.

Wanderer!MC: “…Why are you here.” 😑

Nagamasa: 😶 “…”

Wanderer!MC: 😒 “…”

Nagamasa: *sweating* 👀💦 “Ahem… Um, tea?”

Wanderer!MC: 🤨 “You came all this way and even found where I live…just for tea?”

Nagamasa: (Is it so strange to just want to chat with a neighbor over tea?)

Nagamasa: “At my quarters. Just the two of us.”

Wanderer!MC: 😦 “Pardon…? Just the two of us? In your quarters?”

Nagamasa: 💀 (Whyyyyyyyyyyyyy did I say it like that I sound like a stalker they definitely think I’m weird and creepy now—) “I just want to know a little more about you. Many are curious about the ‘nameless apothecary’ of Kannazuka, and I’m honestly no different.” (Yes, that sounds reasonable enough and it’s also true.)

Wanderer!MC: “Well, not to ruin whatever you and the others might be imagining, but I really am nothing special. Now, if you would please.”

Nagamasa: 🫠 (I take it that’s a no…?)

Yeah, MC is hell-bent on keeping to themself and not saying a damn thing; so Nagamasa goes back empty-handed and the crew agrees to leave it at that. No sense in wasting everybody’s time on a fruitless pursuit.

But then an outbreak happens and one of the kids manages to sneak away from home so they can find the apothecary to treat their mom.

And…well, 1. It’s not like MC can refuse a crying child with a sick mother.

And 2. If this is going to be a regular occurrence with the Mikage Furnace, then it may be easier to just move in after all.

Wanderer!MC: 😮‍💨 “Guess I’m here for keeps.”

Blacksmiths and miners: 🙇🙇‍♀️🙇‍♂️ “THANK YOU FOR YOUR HARD WORK!!”

And the kid who brought MC back to Tatarasuna is treated to lots of expensive sweets and candies, though they don’t really understand why.

Oh boy, I can't wait for Wanderer!MC to let it slip about their 'family' situation, if one can call it that...

But sides that, oh goodness, this whole thing was a treat! Poor Nagamasa can't win, can he? He tried everything, so what do you mean they could've gotten their doctor much earlier if they sent in a kid to ask instead?!

I think this would only further charm the people of Tatarasuna, because it further shows this grumpy cat of a person had a soft heart under all that grouchiness.

One of the worst things about Capitano suddenly swapping places with Dottore is that MC has no idea how to navigate this.

They had an incomplete script, but it was a script that let them know what would happen.

This???

This is absolutely nowhere in the script!

Capitano keeps surprising them at almost every single corner, offering nothing but an honest word and offer of aid, answering all sorts of questions ranging from professional to personal. (Though his answers to MC’s questions about Khaenri’ah and the Traveler’s sibling are, of course, about the same as everyone else, with the bare minimum addition of his account coming from a Khaenri’ahn soldier.)

The Khaenri’ahn folks like him.

The Tatarasuna folks like him.

Niwa actually smiles when they have a civil conversation.

Even Yuki is starting to warm up to him.

Khaenri’ahn elder: “Are you staying long? The cuisine here is rather different, but [MC] tries her hardest to bring out the best flavors.”

Capitano: “Hm. I’ll have to revisit Narukami for diplomatic affairs soon, but I’ll ask her to cook for me once I return.”

Khaenri’ahn laborer: “If you’re heading back into the city, you should try the desserts in the shopping district. They’re really delicious, and not too sweet. I think you’ll enjoy them!”

Capitano: “In that case, I’ll have to remember to bring some back with me.”

Khaenri’ahn child: “Uncle Thrain! Uncle Thrain! Tell us about Snezhnaya and the Snowland Fae!” 🤩

Capitano: “Haha, of course.” ✨🌼🌸

Yuki: 👀 “Is it really only snow as far as you can see?”

Capitano: “Not entirely. Some of the trees there are green year-round, and there are flowers that can only bloom close to or even during the frost.”

No matter what, MC cannot find a valid enough reason to separate him from Inazuma. Not when he’s being a genuine gentleman so far.

The other absolutely worst thing is that this is Capitano just after the Cataclysm, with his immortality curse still newly inflicted.

So his flesh is still completely intact.

Which means he’s not wearing a mask over his face at all.

And.

Damn.

Goddamn.

He looks FINE.

Is it going to shake MC’s will? No. Probably not… Probably.

But he can be really distracting sometimes.

From Capitano’s POV: he’s growing more and more intrigued with MC.

They’re gruff and grouchy, and occasionally physically violent (with scoundrels like some of the Nobushi and Treasure Hoarders) for someone fairly petite; yet their hands move with great care and tenderness when handling the impaired, even when their patient for the day is the rather eerie and unpleasant “Takesumi” (who seems to grow dour for some reason when Capitano is actually allowed in the empty storehouse). They stay awake into ridiculous hours of the night looking after sickly children, even staying overnight in the infirmary if they deem it necessary. (Multiple times, Capitano has caught them asleep hunched over at a feverish child’s bedside.)

They scold and snap at “morons” who recklessly endanger others, but even then they try to hold back and avoid cutting too deep; and their tone quiets once they see the lesson has stuck, redirecting their energy into damage control and treatment.

They freely tutor willing listeners about the sciences, particularly the elements and alchemy, subjects usually withheld behind institutions and their monetary barriers. Like the Akademiya.

They’re probably the only one actually going further out and clearing the monsters and suppressing the Tatarigami, instead of just holding it all off at a set perimeter the way the Narukami soldiers do. Capitano has caught a glimpse of a few scars when MC pushes up their sleeves for work. He’s caught them holding their head a few times, from headaches caused by stress and exhaustion. They’re insistent on watching over everyone’s health, yet tend to their own wounds and ailments in silence in some corner of the infirmary or behind the locked doors of their tiny cottage.

Honestly, what the hell are those Tenryou soldiers even doing nowadays? Practically leaving one person — and a small handful of locals, like Niwa and Nagamasa’s entourage — to do almost all of the heavy-lifting in Tatarasuna’s security, and only providing a scant few samurai? Thrain helps wherever he can, obviously; and now he has half a mind to “chat” with the Tenryou commissioner about this disgracefulness…

With how often they react with surprise whenever Capitano asks them to go home and rest, one might think they weren’t at all used to being cared for. Niwa once mentioned how they still react that way, even when it’s the locals like himself who speak up.

Niwa and Katsuragi seem to know what’s up with that, though they both claim that it’s really not their place to say anything about MC’s issues. They’ve been in Tatarasuna for months, maybe a few years now, and Niwa can tell there are still things that MC hasn’t yet unpacked.

Capitano can more or less guess, though, from how uncomfortable MC looks whenever they hear the Narukami soldiers loudly singing praises for the Electro Archon, to how gloomy MC seems to become whenever they catch their reflection on something like a mirror or a polished billet.

And, really, Capitano wants even more to break down the walls MC seems so determined to build around themself.

Capitano’s POV: (How exactly do I break the ice here…?) 🤔 <- definitely overthinking it

Wanderer!MC’s POV: (It’s only a matter of time before he decides to draw his sword and calls me to Tenshukaku. I can feel it in my bones.) 💀 <- also fucking dense as hell and can’t read Capitano at all

And lol, love how Wanderer!MC instantly locks in on Thrain's handsomeness. No one is immune to the Capi/Thrain effect.

Sides that, I look forward to see how Thrain gets to know Wanderer!MC more. I think they're gonna get along just fine... as long as maybe the Captain keeps his helmet on. That face is distracting, bro-

Miko finding herself genuinely stressing over teaching the still fairly new Shogun puppet some basic politeness and proper Inazuman social etiquette — and to dial down the coldness and lengthen her unbearably short and savage temper. Everybody pray for Miko—

And when the day of the garden party finally arrives, most of the attendees are having a pretty good time, sharing wine and observing the local specialties and products of other nations. Plus, Lord Mikoshi brought along with him a violet-haired beauty (who for some reason looks familiar, but they haven’t looked close or long enough yet to figure it out).

Wanderer!MC: “…Katsuragi.”

Katsuragi: “Y—yes…?”

Wanderer!MC: “…I didn’t hear anything about the Cryo Archon also attending.” 💀

Katsuragi: “I didn’t hear anything about her either until now.” 🗿

Nagamasa: 🫠 “Just hang in there…”

Anastasya* (the Tsaritsa) is silently simmering in stress because she’s trying to fish for information on the Electro Gnosis’s whereabouts, but she’s making no progress at all — and it is blatantly clear to her that the Shogun before her isn’t Beelzebul / Ei, but another puppet Ei created. And this “Shogun” is not as amicable as Makoto or Ei, so Anya feels like she’s navigating a minefield just trying to even hold idle chatter.

Furina is also stressing out because she had every intention of speaking with MC which is why she insisted — almost demanded, even — that the diplomat ensure all of the Inazumans who had joined him on his trip to Fontaine be present at the banquet — since the diplomat wasn’t familiar with and forgot the apothecary’s name — because Furina heard from the Melusines that MC could use elemental magic without a Vision and she needs to learn how they do that and get them to teach her Hydro magic because what if someone asks her to actually demonstrate her nonexistent power as the Hydro Archon and she’s still powerless!?

But not only is this banquet NOT like in Fontaine where attendees are allowed to roam around the hall and mingle with others as they please, but the hierarchical seating arrangements mean that Nagamasa’s entourage, which includes MC, while still fairly close is still sitting a fair distance away from the Shogun’s seat! Furina can’t reach out to MC at all!

Furina: 😭 (Isn’t the Mikoshi clan supposed to be VIP!? How can his group be sitting so far away!? I can’t reach [MC] like this! What the heck am I supposed to do now!?) <- Unaware of Mikoshi Chiyo’s perceived “betrayal” resulting in her clan’s slight “social demotion,” hence Nagamasa’s group being seated further away.

Neuvillette: 🤔 (I knew Lady Furina would surely be disappointed with the seating arrangements, but she actually seems to be in immense distress…)

The Shogun Puppet: <- Timing her movements to mimic lifelike human behavior…and almost totally ignoring the other two Archons.

Anastasya: 💀 (Beelzebul. Please, I am begging you, just come out of your dreamland for one minute and give me an answer…!)

Capitano (seated with Anastasya): 😶 <- Awkwardly nibbling on an almond treat.

Ei: <- Aware the party is happening, still tuning out and not giving a damn. Doesn’t even know who the bratty lost sea goddess sitting next to the Shogun is.

Wanderer!MC: 🙂‍↕️ (Just keep quiet and pray that nothing happens…) <- Knew about the seating arrangements from JP history lessons in their past life and deliberately chose to join Nagamasa’s group so they could be seated further away from the Archons.

And then someone starts choking and vomiting and convulsing like they’re having a seizure and someone else is screaming for help and MC kicks into work mode and they’re yelling for a doctor and other orders and oh god those are most likely signs of cyanide poisoning he’s probably got thirty minutes left they need activated charcoal and either sodium thiosulfate or sodium nitrite do they even have hydroxocobalamin MC doesn’t know but the staff actually has some activated charcoal on hand but this guy also needs oxygen and they don’t have something like an oxygen mask and somebody finally brought an antidote — it was Miko, she ran into Ei’s old lab and cobbled some together — and the patient is probably going to have some lasting damage but at least he will survive…probably.

It’s not over yet tho MC needs to test the dishes to see if this was a targeted poisoning or a mass murder attempt on all of them. Everybody’s stuck in Tenshukaku until then.

Wanderer!MC: “I thought you said this would be a quiet dinner.” ☠️

Nagamasa: “Look, I don’t think anybody here expected a poisoning case tonight.” 🙂‍↕️

Miko: “And here I thought I’d enjoy some detective literature from Fontaine.” 😞

Niwa: “Who would actually be bold enough to attempt a poisoning in Tenshukaku of all places!?” 😰

A better question would be: who exactly did the Akame clan piss off so badly that an attempt on their lives was made during a dinner in the Shogun’s home?

Is it just MC, or is there always something going on with the Akame clan?

Most of the dishes were safe.

The few dishes that were poisoned had gone to the heads of the Akame and Kujou clans, and…the Hydro Archon?

Wanderer!MC: “Get the Chief Justice in here. Now.”

Furina: “I…I was a target?” 😱

It’s just as likely that someone else was targeted, but their plates somehow got swapped with Furina’s, and MC can’t think of a motive for poisoning the Hydro Archon (at this point in time, anyway).

But before MC can start grilling the other guests, the Kujou clan head and the Tenryou general take over. This is in their job description and the Kujou head is clearly not happy with the attempt on his life. Neuvillette’s allowed to join the investigation because. Well. Furina’s food was poisoned, this could have easily turned into a diplomatic incident — hell, this is already a diplomatic incident!

So MC returns their focus onto the patient and has him carted off into a guest room.

Capitano: “Need any help?”

Wanderer!MC: “I need someone to bring an oxygen mask for him, unless you’ve got something fancier…”

It’s almost mind-numbing work after that, monitoring vitals as best as they can without any fancy machinery and making sure the patient is still alive and breathing.

He doesn’t wake up for a while, and MC worries for a moment that his systems might start shutting down — but he finally starts waking up.

Wanderer!MC: 🙄 “Welcome back from the Nether Realm. Has your wife ever told you that you’re a trouble magnet?” <- genuinely relieved he’s alive but they have the rep of a grumpy cat to maintain

*I didn’t want to keep writing “the Tsaritsa” when HoYo’s provided her name as “Anastasya Feodorovna Snezhnaya.” 🫠 I might also go with “Anya” as a nickname for her cuz it sounds cute.

Honestly when I started reading this ask, I thought the Raiden Shogun was gonna cause a scene... but I get that feeling THAT might happened soon enough if she saw Wanderer!MC or someone pisses her off-

I pray for Yae Miko. Our Pink Kitsune has her hands full with making sure this puppet doesn't cause any diplomatic crisis with other nations... nothing more of a diplomatic crisis than having Raiden Shogun pick a fight with a different Archon... ugh, Ei! Get the hell out here and do your damn job!

Another person I'm feeling pity for is the Tsaritsa. Anya (I'm ok with calling her that since it is her name) is more likely to have a sword to her throat than get any info on the Gnosis...

Oh, and then there's Furina, who I see seconds away from having a meltdown, cause nothing was going rig- wait... what do you mean someone tried to poison her?!

Nagamasa and Niwa finding opportunities to leave Inazuma, whether it’s for business ventures or a super brief vacation that they will likely still spend on work (like finding different ores and other materials for crafting) — and also taking Wanderer!MC with them.

MC’s very first time outside of Inazuma finds them in Liyue, after Nagamasa found them researching other mystic arts outside of Inazuma. Nagamasa was looking for a good reason for MC to tag along, and he remembered that Harunosuke left for Liyue to study adeptal arts. Chenyu Vale is also home to very skilled healers, so even if they don’t run into Harunosuke, MC can still bring Yuki along to have a chat for extra consults on his condition.

It leads to a very awkward encounter with Zhongli.

There the old man is, on his way to a teahouse for his regularly scheduled storytelling and osmanthus tea — not osmanthus wine, unfortunately — when he catches a flash of violet at a vendor.

Zhongli: 😦 (Is that…Beelzebul?) 😞 (Ah, she must be taking time off to recover from losing Baal and her friends. Perhaps I should greet her and invite her to wine…)

But he gets closer and closer and he starts to notice a few things amiss.

With the most glaring thing being that she is much shorter than he remembers.

Nagamasa: “What kind of a weird marketing scheme is this?”

Wanderer!MC: 🤔 “So, buy 10 packs for 20% off, and the rate increases by 5% for each additional pack onwards? Then…”

Her voice also sounds very different.

Wanderer!MC: “If we buy 26 packs, we can get 100% off!” 😁 <- not wrong, but definitely bullshitting the vendor

Vendor: 😱 “Wh—what could you need that many for!?”

Beelzebul was also not this mischievous.

Nagamasa: 🤔 “You know, I was wondering what kind of gift I should present to the other clan lords and officials. This could definitely break up the monotony of our usual gift boxes.” <- also bullshitting the vendor

Niwa: 🫢 <- trying to keep a straight face

Vendor: 💀 “I—If that’s really how many you want, then I will go check the stock. Please, give me a moment…”

Zhongli approaches from behind reaches out for her shoulder. “Ei—?”

Zhongli: “Ahem… Please pardon me, miss, I had you mistaken for someone else.” 😅

Wanderer!MC: “Oh, uh, no worries!” (I knew he was around here, but I didn’t expect him to actually come up to me…! 🗿 Guess he thought I was Ei from behind.)

Vendor: “H—honorable guests, I am so sorry to say that we ran out of stock. Our last shipment had just taken up the rest, so we’ll be closing up shop soon until we can get more.”

Wanderer!MC: (He’s totally lying. I can still see a few boxes in there.) “That’s a shame.”

Nagamasa: “Next time, then!” 😌

Niwa: “Thank you for your time~” ☺️

Zhongli: *watching them walk away* “…Xiao.”

Xiao: “My lord.”

Zhongli: “Observe her movements. Report what you see.”

Xiao follows his instruction to the letter, tailing MC all over Liyue Harbor and in Qiaoying Village during the day and reporting back at dawn and dusk.

So far, MC is just taking their adopted little brother Yuki on a sightseeing trip, and consulting other physicians on his health.

MC absolutely knows Xiao is following them, but calling him out would do nothing other than probably making him hostile.

Xiao absolutely knows that MC knows and is more or less waiting for them to call him out, and is starting to wonder why they haven’t already.

Yuki, on the other hand—

Yuki: “Hey, sis? Why’s that weirdo with the mask following us?”

Now that. That wasn’t something either of them expected.

Xiao: 😑💢 (Irreverent child…)

Wanderer!MC: 🙂‍↕️ (I did not do a good job of teaching him manners.) “That ‘weirdo with the mask’ is the Conqueror of Demons, a guardian yaksha of Liyue. Try to be a little nicer. He’s probably here to make sure we don’t get into trouble—” *pinches Yuki’s cheek* “—because you keep trying to run off to explore some random ruins while my back is turned. Those kinds of places are still too dangerous for you to handle.”

Wanderer!MC does still look quite a bit like Ei, so there's at least some rumours on Inazuma. What are the chances that our MC gets so fed up with Yae Miko and Ei at one point that they match back to the palace to yell at them?

(Something like:

I'm living for the idea of Inazuma learning that Ei was a terrible mother, cause you know Wanderer!MC's yelling spread FAST among the nation and suddenly parents are hiding their children, especially babies, whenever Ei graced the streets.

Cause if she threw away her own child for crying, what would she do to a mortal child or even baby that cries in her presence?!

Along with this, the whole reveal that Inazuma has a Prince/ss. Imagine someone called Wanderer!MC 'Your highness' or something and they just make a ick face, cause ew, don't call them that!

MC’s pronouns pending 😬 and this honestly does take some inspiration from Inuyasha and The Apothecary Diaries (not a crossover).

Fella just wakes up as the Kabukimono in the Shakkei Pavilion — with very very very vague memories of their creation and Ei leaving — and more or less has an existential crisis, quietly spiraling and trying to figure out how the hell they got into this predicament that is waking up as a future antagonist.

Like…what the fuck do you even do in this situation???????

MC: 🤨 (Uhhhhhhh where the fuck am I…?) *looks around* 😰 (Seriously how the fuck am I—?) *looks in a mirror and sees Kabukimono / Scaramouche / Wanderer* 😱 (WHY THE FUCK AM I!?)

If you can picture Wanderer with long and messy bedhair, MC really waking up like that r.i.p.—

Once their meltdown has passed though, they’re washing up and brushing out their tangled hair and taking stock of their surroundings never mind their anxiety still simmering and thinking about what they can and probably should do. Luckily, Ei left behind some supplies before she ditched them.

(They also go and change clothes into something much more simple, practical and plain because no way are they going out in what the OG Kabukimono wore, that’s a surefire way to get jumped by Treasure Hoarders and Nobushi.)

And you know what, who says that they have to fill in Wanderer’s role at all? They’re pretty much still at the very beginning of his story. They can step away from the plot and do whatever they feel like. Live the Animal Crossing life and not get involved with either the Tatarasuna folks or the Fatui. Learn some crafting and redecorate their room or something. Anything.

Nothing actually happens for a long while. MC does go out to fight some real enemies for self-defense training (mostly slimes and Whopperflowers, but they do encounter the occasional Ochimusha phantoms) but for the most part they’re just learning some magic out of curiosity, and foraging for medicinal herbs because they do come across monsters and injured passersby. Their life is otherwise a quiet one and MC starts to think it’s actually going to stay that way.

Except “fate” likes to be a hoe. 🫠

Landslide caused by the Tatarasuna miners.

With predictable results.

…Probably time to panic. But at the same time MC really can’t. There might be people injured or trapped under the rubble.

And by this time word is already circulating about an apothecary — or maybe a shrine maiden? — on Kannazuka, sometimes popping up near Tatarasuna and clearing out monsters, abyssal corruption and tatarigami while treating any sick and injured passersby in the area.

Katsuragi comes across said apothecary digging out a few people caught in the landslide — and Katsuragi really could not have come at a better time because the patients have serious injuries, there’s no way MC can move them all alone and one of the patients has a head injury. And you do not carelessly move someone who has a head injury!!!!!

Katsuragi runs all the way back to Tatarasuna to report the situation and bring back some extra help. Thankfully, they’re not too far away from each other, but it’s still quite a hike.

He also tells his boss Nagamasa that he found the apothecary. Of course he does.

Because they need a new medic.

Because the current medic assigned to their crew is a quack, and even Katsuragi thinks the Tenryou Commission couldn’t care less so much as they got their work done.

And now, after working so late into the night having resetting all the patients’ bones and stitching them up, MC’s having to shake off one of the blacksmiths clinging to their leg begging for them to stay as their medic, after MC has consistently rejected every single offer even with increasing rewards.

Wanderer!MC: *trying to trudge along while dragging a grown ass man holding onto their leg* “You already have a doctor, and I’m just a vagrant passing by. Now let go of me.” 💢😑

Blacksmith: 😭 “But you actually know what you’re doing and we only have that one doctor, and you can even handle the tatarigami better than most of us, please please pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease—!”

Wanderer!MC: “…I’ll consider it if you let go of my leg.”

Blacksmith: 🤩 “Really!?”

Wanderer!MC: “Nope.”

The split second that smith loosens his grip, MC pulls free and takes off faster than one of those Rifthounds.

Nobody sees MC for a month after that.

Until a freak accident has Nagamasa being “tapped” on the head by falling debris, getting washed out to sea and, by some stupid miracle, getting fished out of the water by MC who scrambles to do CPR after noticing that Nagamasa wasn’t breathing.

Nagamasa: 😵‍💫 “What happened…?”

Wanderer!MC: 😒 “You almost drowned. Now follow my finger, I have to make sure you’re not broken in the head.”

Nagamasa: “…About that job offer—”

Wanderer!MC: 😊💢 “On second thought, you seem like you can get home by yourself perfectly fine~!”

Nagamasa: “At least hear me out—!!!”

Lucky them that they already woke up AFTER Ei abandoned them, and before they left the spot she left them in. This at least gives them a chance to make their own path, which i very much like!

The whole Apothecary idea is nice too, makes me think of them being kinda like Maomao, but they're just not obsessed with Poisons.

And lol, love how everyone on Tatarasuna wants Wanderer!MC to come work for them. Gosh, I can imagine their look of disgust as grown men cling and whined at their leg.

Saying that... if they do come to stay at Tatarasuna, I want them to take one 'Escher' when he arrives to 'help' Tatarasuna, and just knocks clean out with a pan.

They then drag his ass to Inazuma city, where Ei and Yae give them shocked looks, but they just dispose the groaning body before the women, and hands off information of the Fatui trying to cause havoc in Inazuma.

So, the whole mess with Tatarasuna and the Mikage Furance is avoided... but now a curious Electro Archon plus Fox was now poking around Wanderer!MC's Apothecary and home-
