Kotone never really thought of herself as a good trainer. Sure, she won a lot of battles and was champion at one point, but she never really thought she was good. She was sure there were people much better than her and figured she was decent at best. So when a green haired boy came up to her asking for training tips, she was pretty surprised.

“Training tips?” Kotone repeated the words, blinking a few times. Before thinking it through, she let out an excited squeak. “Yea, I can give you training tips! Ooooh, this will be so much fun!” The brunette spun in a circle, letting out some of the energy she had. She clapped, looking up at the boy. “I’m so excited!”

After finally calming down, the young girl tapped her finger against her chin. “Lets see... training tips, training tips...” She hummed quietly to herself, trying to think of what kind of help she could give. After a few minutes, she let out a sigh. “I can’t think of anything...”

Not being one to get easily discouraged, Kotone offered a bright smile. “Let’s get to know each other first!” Before the boy could even nod, the girl started spouting out questions. “What’s your name? How old are you? What’s your favorite color? What’s your favorite food? How many pairs of shoes do you have? Is your family big or small? Where were you born? Why is your hair green?” Not wanting to scare him off, Kotone sheepishly laughed. “You don’t have to answer all of those, if you don’t want to!”

Sitting on across the room, the former gym leader spotted a quiet-type. Reasons she assumed him to be as one was his type of clothing seemed to be rather simple, not picked out to stand out, that much was for sure. Even with that note, she spotted that he would time to time talk to a student that walked on by. Still seemed to be a tad bit of a wallflower.

Dear Wally,

…what can I really say to you? I’m not sure. I am very conflicted towards you, I will admit. I see you as weak, pathetic, and a piece of trash that doesn’t even deserve to be on the bottom of my shoe. 

But…that feeling is very…small inside. It is not as present as my…g-guilt. 

I feel guilt towards the way that I think of you. I’m guilty that I left all those years without saying anything. I’m guilty about how horrid I’ll probably treat you in the future. I can not and probably will not change overnight. I want you to realize this. Nor will my words or actions be the nicest. 

But I…I promise that I will try. For you.

It was a bit of a chilly day in the forest surrounding Fortree City, but honestly, Yuuki loved it. He much preferred the chilly winter weather to the scolding hot summer weather any day. Plus, the forest was much more beautiful during the winter. Although he wasn't quite happen that the trees also tended to be hollow of life until the spring. 

So caught up in his thoughts, Yuuki never noticed that he had unknowingly slipped into the city. However, once he accidentally bumped into someone, who gave him a very harsh remark in return, he widened his eyes and looked around. Letting out a loud hiss and cursing mentally, the boy turned around quickly. He had expected to see the forest right behind him. But he was surprised to see a dirt road behind him. 

Had he been that consumed by his thoughts? The thought almost scared him. Piercing his lips together as yet another person bumped into him, Yuuki made his way through the city, heading to the exit without a second thought. He would not spend another second in this blasted city if he had to. 

He walked briskly through the town, making sure to keep his head down in the mean time. His eyes would flicker up momentarily to make sure that he didn't bump into someone in the meantime. As his eyes flickered up yet against, his breath hitched dangerously and he quickly came to a stop, his head lifting up completely. 

There was a person standing in front of the Pokemon Gym, seeming to be thinking about something. But that wasn't what caught Yuuki's attention. Actually, he could have cared less about where the person was standing. No, what caught his attention was who it was that was standing in front of the gym. 

He hadn't thought he would ever see that person ever again...he had thought that he had seen the last of that person when he had cut all ties with his past life...
