Who could her mysterious boyfriend be (her 'boyfriend' is translated as 'she' in the version I am watching). Either way, kind of a mean spirited thing to do? (or maybe just lacking in consideration?) (it has such comedic air though) Who could leave somebody like her behind?

So, like, not fitting in is scandalous even if not exactly prohibited. But also coupled with her success in acting this way, she ends up looking pretty 'dashing'. I am not sure how else to put it.

The problem with me watching rgu is that I have heard a lot about it having meaning so I kind of expect a lot of things being purposeful (subtle or not, heavyhanded or not)

Utena, they were in fact arguing in a place where nobody would- (except by accident and thus might feel compelled to just walk awa-)

The problem of watching RGU is that I know shit is happening and it is dark. So I know that the rose-framed girl (aka Anthy) is not really meaningfuly helped here bc later it turns out she is stuck in a very abusive situation and has been stuck for a long time.

So like, back to Utena. She's like "why are they arguing in the public place" (making it other people's problem) (the scene made it pretty noticeable that it was mostly the Green who did the arguing with Rose Girl looking sad. After it becomes apparent that Saionji the Green Guy really sucks (as he hits Anthy), we get Utena unnerved. I wonder if she began considering whether to interfere but ultimately someone else comes in first) (I mean, she was still in the building when it happened so makes sense, I suppose). But like. Usually you would see the protagonist immediately jump into action instead of this way more grounded and realistic "what is their problem- what the hell- oh, good, somebody stopped the asshole"
