i thought it was obvious that it was just a prank considering the date and also like, WHO in their right minds would actually ship w*ipa???? dfjkjkfdskj

but yeah, @ranchthoughts and i came up with this idea a week before april fool's and so we rushed to make a whole bunch of posts. @ranchthoughts collected them all in this masterpost, if you feel like going through them again and looking at all of our creations through the lense of your newfound knowledge. i especially recommend taking a look at the meta, it's excellently bullshitted and made me laugh so much (i read it all to my mother earlier today and we were both crying from laughter)

also, how sweet of you to delete the anti-wai tag just in case 🥺🥺🥺 however, had you kept it i'm sure it would have made me giggle a lot 🤭🤭🤭 which reminds me, this:

Yeah I think we were all so focused on Pat and Pran for the last two years at the detriment to the other characters of the show, and especially at the expense of Wai and Pa's relationship. And like I wrote here, I just think waipa was so brilliantly constructed to explore the themes of the show it's a real disservice to overlook it. I mean, how cool is it to have a romantic relationship be such a vessel for themes about intergenerational trauma etc! waipa were really so groundbreaking.

I think people tended to overlook waipa because they didn't end up together by the end of the show, which I get but also just because they didn't end up together on the show doesn't mean the love wasn't strong and valuable (and also I think choosing to end the show with them apart just speaks to Aof's commitment to the themes of his work - in real life sometimes things don't end up happily). I know it's disappointing but it's just so much richer narratively (and gives us some delightful angst!)

I think Wai grows up to be a really good dad - we already see how meeting Pa softened him and got him to grow up and I think he's only going to continue maturing over time
