What if Derek actually survived? Because we don’t know for sure he’s dead rn. 

I was rewatching the video and noticed an interesting like in the book at the library which has a line that says , “Mending me as one.”

I’m assuming that the author is this book was also given infinite knowledge after they looked at the king while the othered around him screamed that “lasted three seconds.”

However the author writes they were mended as one by the king (I think) which makes me believe that the king can try to fix a fractured/unclean mind to an extent, which can also explain why Derek’s mind was calmer looking at the Minecraft world since the king was in it.

Another thing is that I don’t think the king itself knows fully what happens to a corrupted mind if it merges with one since the king too has gaps in knowledge since Minecraft isn’t it’s domain.

Additionally, in Derek’s video with the letter in his YouTube account ‘dhutchins333,’ we can hear shuffling and breathing before the audio cuts out, which I belive is Derek unplugging some headphones maybe and then ending the video and uploading it to release on March 25 (the date it released bc Wifies narrating never mentioned he uploaded it so it was probably set to upload on that date.)

So this brings me to my theory.

What I think could have happened is that when the king and Derek merged minds, the king is using its power to try to stop Derek’s mind from imploding and is basically the only think keeping Derek alive as if Derek dies, so does the king. And because of this, the king has to focus solely on keeping Derek’s mind stable and can’t do anything else, causing it to be trapped in Derek’s mind, keeping both of them alive.

This brings me to the DMS, or I think known as the Department of Meta-physical science.

Why would the take an interest in Derek’s video which could be brushed off as a silly video game recording that was altered?

Why would they take an interest in it and remove it, something they would need Derek’s device or account to do?

Why would they take an interest in Derek if he was dead?

It may be possible that if the king were keeping Derek’s mind alive, that would show on brain scans and readings which could cause them to take Derek away for research, taking the video away to analyze it as well.

This may be why the letter video was uploaded on YouTube at a later date if Derek scheduled it to upload at a later date.

Idk this is just a fun theory I thought up and would be funny to explore cause now the king is trapped in Derek.
