As some of you may know my dad’s a technician who works at conferences, concerts, festivals and stuff, so necessarily he made sure to get the best speakers for our kitchen and living area (church speakers since we have a lot of echo in our kitchen).
Anyway I wanted to put on my favourite music on those speakers for long time and today’s finally the day, I’m alone at home. I put on the Parsifal prelude and will listen to Tristan and Lohengrin excerpts later and it’s absolutely flooring

This sequence huh. Once again, encapsulating this in words is hard. Wagnerian is what I want to use, because the music that John Williams put together this is beautiful, capturing the tragedy, the hate, the intensity of the fight. The setting is brilliant, with the fight moving from the station into the lava river itself, with churning billows of fire to match the full hatred the two men have towards one another in this moment. Finally, the music comes to one harsh Force theme, Obi-Wan cautions Anakin not to try and jump him on the high ground, Anakin overestimates his own skill in this one moment and falls to the pit of lava. And brilliant acting from both McGregor and Christensen as Anakin screams a gargled and almost pitiful “I hate you,” to which Obi-Wan cries of how he loved Anakin as his brother. Anakin is consumed by his own rage and the fire, becoming a mangled burning mass to which Obi-Wan can barely look but not even bring himself to kill.
