It looks like Pirate101 Polaris is just gonna reuse the Wizard101 map…
I’m not mad at the people who work on Pirate101, I’m more just sad that this game which has a lot of potential is unable to get back up off the ground. I truly think that if this game was more well known and could be found by other people, it’d be popular and loved! There’s so many things about this game to love, the story is engaging, the combat system is unique and applies itself well to co-op and solo players, and the maps and worlds felt varied compared to Wizard101’s first arc (so many hallways…)
The last new world was Krokotopia, a world that was confined to one island that was reused from Wizard101 and apparently didn’t work well with the Pirate101 combat system. I think what Polaris needs is a proper skyway, one with wind lanes, islands to explore, ships to engage in combat with, and beasts to battle.
The teasers on Pirate101’s discord account are using the same maps as Wizard101, which doesn’t spark much hope in me
Polaris in Wizard101 is surrounded by water while Polaris’s depiction in Pirate101 is a sky island. If we’re already confirmed to be in W101s Polaris, then that doesn’t leave much room for naval gameplay
I’ve got a few theories on why Pirate101 can’t achieve the same popularity as Wizard101, but I’m tired

One of my favorite things that's so goofy about wiz is how sometimes the portrait of the boss you're about to fight pops up and they shit talk you but then take a moment to remind you that you can bring friends to fight them ðŸ˜
It's definitely a fourth wall break but it amuses me every time.

I'm going to be honest, i don't like some of the wiz city newbie quest changes. It's been a while since I played the OG quests, and tbh, I mainly remember triton ave because that was the one that was free (lol). But I swear it felt longer?? All these quests, they were longer. Whenever you had to collect something from a monster you fought, there was also the possibility that a text would pop up saying you failed to get that item or am I misremembering that?
It feels like they dumbed it down, which is a shame. I know it's a kids game, but come on.
