I'm convinced the reason so many Vulcan's say fascinating and logical is because in their language they would have 10+ words to describe something but they all translate to fascinating and logical.
I really like to pick and choose things I like in SNW and one of those things is that during the V'shal dinner, the two families seem color coordinated according to their clan.
Spock and Amanda in a beautiful phtalo green (bonus Pike in his green wraparound) and T'Pring and her parents in dark brown tones and copper (with T'Pring seemingly defying her mother by wearing creme with copper)
I really like to think Vulcan clans have colors associated to them, mostly with some ancestral sigil or something (I love coats of arms) and that Spock's clan color is this beautiful dark green.
Also guess who else appears in dark phtalo green robes...
Saavik!
I'm convinced that there is a heavy organizational power behind the impossibility of the Vulcan language. I'm going to call it the Vulcan Linguistics Academy.
The VLA is responsible for the Vulcan language dictionary and the grammar lessons. Its mission statement says that it is dedicated to improving Vulcan-galactic relations and cooperation, allowing greater knowledge of Vulcan cultural touchstones to outsiders, and improving the accessibility of Vulcan literature.
Its actual goal is the exact opposite: to keep Vulcan secrets and confuse outsiders. It also attempts to universalize, standardize, and rationalize the Vulcan language—which can't be done, given the antiquity and diversity of Vulcan tongues. But that doesn't stop them.
So the VLA calmly and with a straight face pronounces that Vulcan possesses no swears at all, only a few derogatory prefixes, which normal Vulcans never use. Even though anybody who's been around Vulcans long enough has heard at the very least bath'paik and ponfo mirann, the VLA refuses to acknowledge either one exists.
The VLA offers few words for emotions, attempting to convince us Vulcans tediously slap roots together any time they want to say "sorry" or "lonely." Pretty sure that was a lie (sorry, an omission) and they just didn't want us to know feelings were a thing they ever talked about.
The VLA is why the universal translator glosses t'hy'la as "friend" and doesn't translate pon farr at all. (By roots, allegedly, pon farr means "time time," or at least that's what they want you to think.)
Uhura hates the VLA. It constantly gets between her and understanding the language. She's had to beg, borrow, and steal source documents to derive the language herself.
Spock likes it. It makes it very easy for him to say whatever the heck he wants about Vulcan culture and not get called out by it.
And Amanda Grayson? The one Terran fully fluent in modern Golic?
She's on the VLA board 😏

Time for some more sexy Vulcan lore from the wonderful @jennelikejennay! This is a delicious little TOS short story which explores the idea that Vulcan's can absorb moisture through their skin. Cue the gloriously wet Vulcan standing I the rain!

I took a couple of screenshots to see if this applied to Spock but then I realized that I didn't prove anything because they always stare at each other like that ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
More vulcans have cat ancestry lore thoughts: vulcan infants as kittens
Vulcan infants after birth, like kittens, have their eyes closed (and ears too!). Ears may "open" sooner, but I feel like eyes would open after a month, maybe a bit longer. Partially because they're just not developed enough yet, but also extremely beneficial to a desert environment with lots of sand and bright sun that could damage the eyes while still at such a vital stage. Who knows? Maybe that second eyelid set is actually a perfect thing for this growth period, doubled protection against the elements
If a vulcans telepathic abilities were to form in the womb, no matter how fragile and small it is, the mother can bond and nurture it before birth (in Amanda's case with assistance from sarek or other vulcans).
However, that also could be the way vulcan infants "communicate" so to speak what their needs are, like human infants crying in different ways. Even if it's weak that connection is very important, and they have a tendency to hang off their mothers (and eventually other guardians they grow to trust) like little koalas, as the little touch telepaths they are. Perhaps vulcan children don't verbally start to communicate until much later than humans because they have that telepathic connection
Of course eyes opening is a huge deal and a milestone like first words and steps. Apparently kittens all start with blue eyes and the color changes as they get accustomed to light and shit? That sounds super interesting for vulcans too, not necessarily blue of course. Perhaps mostly black, like aniridia, where the pupil starts very large in comparison to the iris (due to a lack of light exposure previously) and overtime they change to brown and all that as the pupil becomes accustomed to light exposure.
Bonus: Vulcan toddlers running around on all fours for longer than humans as well because of that cat ancestry too
So I recently remembered tumblr was a place I could post all my fandom bullshit/musings and not annoy my family with them so in the spirit of that
Things People Forget About Vulcans/Vulcan
Vulcan has no oceans, except of lava. It is a desert/volcano planet and the tectonic movement is determined by volcanoes, not water flow.
Vulcans have a secondary clear eyelid, and Spock was somehow unaware or pretended to be unaware of this fact for approximately thirty years of his service in Starfleet, before said eyelid saved his sight in TOS Season 2.
Vulcans aren't JUST touch telepaths; touch amplifies their telepathy, but (as shown with Tuvok in Voyager) they can communicate via telepathy similar to verbal speech without contact, and (as shown in TOS' "The Immunity Syndrome") can sense intense emotions from other Vulcans from star systems away, so they are probably empaths on a level with Betazoids.
In "Amok Time" it is revealed that Vulcans do still worship (at least nominally) a fire or volcano goddess
