Celebrimbor is not used to feeling useless. He has always been a builder and creator, someone who keeps his mind and hands busy designing and crafting everything from the smallest pendant to the tallest tower. He took pride in his work – too much, he has to admit. Hindsight is a wonderful, terrible thing in that regard. Because of him, because he didn’t know when to stop and be content with what he’d already accomplished, Ost-in-Edhil lies in ruin now, with many of her people buried beneath once splendid towers, bridges and walls. He let his pride consume and blind him, and in doing so doomed them all. Now it will not be his work people will remember as his greatest achievement. Grief will be his legacy; grief and ruin. He should have died in his forge.
