More SSA Designs, This Time for the Magic Element!
(For a bit more Explanation I heavily redesigned Double Trouble because I feel like both he and Voodood gave off Warlock vibes and I wanted to tweak that. So instead I tried to lean into a theme of Magic Shows and Theater with a dash of whimsy.)
Skylander Academy was calm and quiet with many Skylanders gone and handling missions, but a few had their own mission they were preparing for. A yearly tradition of the Elite Squad of Ghost Roaster, Boomer, and Voodood had begun with Ghost Roaster cooking a traditional Ooga Clan food, a hearty meat-filled bread, along with a savory and spicy sauce. Ghost Roaster had just finished up with the sauce before calling out to Voodood.*
"Hey Voodood! Did I make this right?"
*The formidable and last warrior of the Ooga Clan then walked in with every step of his boots felt mighty, most skylanders are often intimidated by the warrior, but Ghost Roaster knew better. Voodood was a mighty warrior and not a man to take lightly, but he was not a violent brute who would fight others for no reason. He had a heart of gold and a kind mind.*
"Let me taste."
*He grabbed the ladle and scooped a small amount of the sauce before taking a sip of it. He smiled and gave a hearty laugh.*
"Hmh, good. More Dragon Flare seeds ."
"Hey, can I try some?"
*Boomer ran into the kitchen and slid right beside them. He had a slightly manic attitude, he was still kind through and through.
"Of course Boom."
*Ghost Roaster got another scoop and lowered it to Boomer as Boomer took a sip, and he then exclaimed.*
"HOLLY MOLLY! Man that's spicy, hope that bread will cool it off."
"No, sauce meant to be hot. The meat in bread is left uncooked but seasoned. You dip bread into sauce to cook meat."
"Wha?"
*Boomer slightest drooled at the thought.*
"Oh, that sounds freaking amazing. Can't wait to eat it!"
"Neither can I."
*Voodood smiled before looking at Ghost Roaster and putting both of his hands on his shoulders.*
"Ghost Roaster, thank you for food."
"Hey, bud. It's not a problem. I'm always honored to."
"Pheew, man that sauce is hot. Anyway, the candles are ready."
"Thank you Boomer"
"It's no worry, I'm always honored to make them."
"Eon aware of no contact until our return?"
"One of the first things I told him. Buzz is also aware."
"Oh, where's Stormblade? Didn't you say she was invited Voodood?"
"Of course, she has shown respect, she is one of only Skylanders trusted."
"I guess you should go get her Ghosty. Hehe."
"Oh shush Booms."
*The two chuckled before Ghost Roaster left the kitchen and floated to the Superchargers' living quarters. He walked into the building and floated up the stairs to the top floor, Stormblade 's bedroom.*
"Hey Stormblade! You Almost Ready?"
"A-almost r-r-re-whoa! T-the doors unlocked."
*He opened the door and walked in, Stormblade's room was once again a mess, not with trash on the floor or dirty laundry lying in random piles, but with maps strewn across a coffee table near a comfy armchair with blue and purple colors, a box of notebooks and journals with sticky notes, was spilling out with the box more like part of a pile. On either side of her hanging airplane bed was a bookshelf filled with more notebooks, journals, and even sketchbooks. Along with books, there were:different kinds of rocks, crystals, artifacts, all manner of treasures, and prizes. They were all covering the bookshelf messily. Stormblade may be a skilled pilot and a wonderful skylander, but she's not tidy at all.*
"Heh, you ever plan on organizing everything?"
"Why? I know where everything is."
*He then sees her carrying at least a dozen notebooks, sketchpads, and journals. The books were stacked so high that Ghost Roaster couldn't see her face, and she couldn't see where she was going when she then slipped on a loose map on the floor. She fell to the floor as the books buried her.*
"Um…a little help?"
"Hehehe yep, come here."
*He then reached into the book pile before grabbing her foot and pulling her out.*
"Hehehey, careful."
*She giggled as he helped her up.*
"Alright Alright. Now why did you have an obscene amount of books?"
"Why else! I'm going to the land of the Ooga Clan! I just have to learn everything about it!"
"I'm sure you don't need that much."
"Are You Kidding Me! I've Always Wanted To Learn About The Ooga Clan's Way Of Life!!!"
"Fine, but maybe only a few books, one of each."
"Ughh, fine."
*She chuckled as she grabbed three books.*
"Now let's go, the food's ready and Voodood likes to get there at a certain time."
"Got it!"
*The two then rushed to the shipyard where a small ship was waiting for them. It was a simple ship that was used by the Secret Ninja Commandos.*
"So this is what we're flying in?"
"Yes."
"Were you expecting something bigger and faster?"
"…maybe."
"Heh, sorry. Not this time."
*The four then boarded the ship as Voodood drove, he was one of the few who knew where the old village used to be.*
"How long is it gonna take?"
"Patience."
"It shouldn't take too long."
"okay, okay. I can wait."
*It took an hour to arrive at the old home of Voodood's tribe. When the ship finally landed, Stormblade was the first to hop out, her eyes wide and in complete awe, looking all around the old, broken campsite. Rags of tents left blowing like a flag of a forgotten time. Voodood took a breath of the air as memories flood his head, he has a bittersweet smile as a small tear goes down his eye.
"Home."
"Holly Molly! All the artifacts here are incredible!"
"Stormblade! Be careful."
"Oh…right sorry."
"It fine. Happy you excited."
"Can you show me around and teach me more?"
"…"
*Voodood looked overjoyed to hear that.*
"Yes, I will."
*He then turned to his friends.*
"Get set up."
"Roger."
"You got it."
*Voodood then went off with Stormblade and showed her all around the area, answering each question she had about the Ooga Clan. It felt…wonderful to tell his tribes history to someone who truly wanted to learn everything about them. He was talking about the Elders when Ghost Roaster caught his attention.*
"Okay Dood, the candles are ready for you to put down."
"The food is also ready."
"Thank you."
*He stood back up and walked over to the candles and began to walk around, placing one candle down on what seemed to be random places. Stormblade stood by Ghost Roaster and Boomer and watches.*
"So each candle is where someone died?"
"Yep. He always does that."
*When the last candle is placed, He then simply sits in the middle of the candles and meditates, deep in thought, and memories. Axe Reaver by his side, his breathing calm. He begins to recite many names, the names of each of his fellow tribe members.*
"So how long does this last?"
"Usually 6 hours, one time it was one whole day. He takes this very seriously."
"Okay, what do we do while we wait?"
"Usually watch over him just in case someone followed us, but we also often play Skystones too."
"Nice. Who's gonna start? I'm quite a good player."
"Bring it on."
*And there was the scene, Voodood remembering that battle, thinking about each lost warrior that day, and Boomer, Ghost Roaster, and Stormblade played Skystones and watched over Voodood. Hours pass before Voodood sighed and stood back up. His time of reminiscing had finished as under his breath he said only two words to the stars.*
"Thank you."
"You ready to eat bud?"
"Yes."
*He turned back to his friends, his new ones. And the young bird that gave him so much joy in spreading his culture. Time had taken do much from him, but it gave him so much too.*
"GREAT! Let's eat."
*the time for bittersweet memories had ended, it was time to celebrate the history. Voodood smiled as he joined his friends in celebration, the new and the old.*
