I'm emotionally compromised.
one of those child-raising sim games except the kid is disabled as hell. can't finish their classes. has to cancel the dates you schedule for them. gets bullied.
if you drive them hard, their grades go up a little, but their epilogue career options get substantially worse. the wiki does not tell you this.
if you're really, really supportive of them, even after they sink a profitable marriage you were trying to set up for them, the kid transitions partway through the game instead of just writing you a post-game letter about their transition.
the secret best-place finish is actually getting invited to your kid's wedding. to earn their trust enough for this, you have to deliberately leave gaps in the kid's school schedule every year for the whole game and ignore all the obvious farming optimizations for resources and skill points. and you have to not talk them into going to prom.

Good News to fans of the child raising/princess maker genre: The developers of Volcano Princess are making a new game!!
Meet your new daughter in Moon Princess!!
From the steam page, this game seems to be beefier than Volcano Princess. More stories, more systems (you can farm and raise animals!) and best of all, more NPCs to love and marry! 60+ NPCs in total, with 12 romance candidates!
I'm most excited by the description of "NPCs can become friends after adventures or entangle your daughter in complicated romantic dramas," and the fact that NPCs can remember your actions and treat you differently because of it.
And best of all, you can be Papa OR Mama!! We cheered!!!
Learning we're getting a new princess maker so soon is the best news. I cannot wait to love my daughter all over again <3

I finally got Volcano Princess and I deadass was NOT expecting there to be a gay poly ending??? Or for me to get it on my first playthrough????? I literally just saw Gwyneth and Mona and was like I'll just persue both and let the fates (internal calculator) decide because they're both So Cute.
