[I think you followed me first, but that won't take away from my initial reaction when I saw your oc list. At first, I thought you were rping a sweet roll giant (yeah, I know), but when I saw the blogs list I literally felt my jaw drop. Seriously?! How the hell are you able to manage all those oc's? Oh-hoho, not only that, but they're so diverse! That's skill right there. I've been checking each blog ever since.]
((...see, now I want to start rping a sweet troll giant. Because... I just... he'd be delicious and terrifying and honestly, I should change that sidebar image, but really it amuses me to no end. xD
ALSO AOSINDAISDHASD I don't know how to respond! T^TI've always admired your writing, roleplaying, and development skills with Volamer and aisdjas.I'm afraid all I can do is keysmash. But holy cow, do I take this as a massive compliment. Thank you so much! T^T))Â
[Describe the level maintenance required for Mirthy's prosthetic arm. Is said maintenance meticulous, or pretty straight-forward?]
[ I imagine that it is mostly self sustaining, given that it is of Dwemer origin - After all, those automatons are certainly still running about in Dwemer ruins despite their creators vanishing in 1E 700! Such machinations are clearly built to last, and the quality of workmanship in Mirthys’s arm reflects this.I do believe that the arm would require maintenance every now and then, and obviously requires a lot more more care than a normal arm does. The working order of the automatons in the ruins could be credited to the Dwarven Spiders, who mine metals and gems (and thus could act as repair droids of sorts). Mirthys, on the other hand, had to learn herself how to fix her arm if it broke. During the experimental stages of installation, Mirthys’s captors fiddled about with her arm a considerable amount as they adjusted its movements and parts during refining of the design. By watching them closely, she picked up a lot of hints and tips relating to how to make it work. Though she’s not got the skill to build something from scratch, as she was never directly taught that much, she certainly recognises structures easily - It’s like a jigsaw to her. She therefore knows how to put things back together and make them work again, even if she cannot build them from nothing. Ever seen those pieces of unfortunate Dwarven Sphere flung about a ruin? Give them to Mirthys and she’ll bring it to life again… Not that you’d want her to, of course. She’s a logical, smart and resourceful little soul, and I wholly blame her Dwemer heritage for this.Basically, the majority of maintenance her arm requires is oiling and smoothing out any dents and dings that may occur - It’s a pretty sturdy contraption, on the whole! If the soul gem that powers it shatters, either through impact or by draining magical means, then that will need to be replaced as well. She has actually had to replace fingers on the hand before. When she awoke from her suspended animation and emerged from the ice that encased her, it became obvious that the effects of freeze-thaw fracture on the metal had damaged her arm significantly. Over time, expanding ice crystals in the vacant arm cavity had cracked the side of the arm and split some of the finger joints, causing them to fall off. The metal was not malleable enough at such low temperatures to bend, and instead acted as if it was brittle. However, such a thing was not too troubling an issue to fix, for the answer sprung to her mind quickly. After all, what looks a lot like fingers and is scattered around many a Dwemer ruin in pieces?
Exactly. ]
[[For the mun: How are you able to maintain an awesome plethora of characters?]]
((Firstly:
I don't know how to properly respond to nice things, especially when they come from someone I genuinely think is just akasdaskd fantastic.
Secondly --In an actual attempt to answer your question with words...I'm... not sure? I just do?The ideas happen, I flesh them out, then I see how they fare in interaction. Sometimes, they work out well. Sometimes, they peter out and I just let them go back into hibernation. Occasionally, it's that period of 'rest' per se, in which I get more ideas for them, or I figure out what had me 'stuck' with their characters.
More often than I'd like to admit though - I just... doubt myself?I worry that the characters aren't interesting or believable, or that my writing and portrayal of them is just poor. It's not so much that I want the character to be 'liked' - if someone doesn't like them, that's fine. I just hope that the reason they don't 'like' them is because of the character's personality and choices, and not because I'm terrible with writing them.I want my characters to be disliked (and liked) as a character itself, not because the person behind the character has made them 'poorly' written.
Whew, that turned into a ramble. o.oBASICALLY,I think of ideas - I act them out.Sometimes they're great, sometimes they aren't.Generally I worry that I'm doing a poor job with writing and making the characters unrealistic.Â
((Describe Dal's wardrobe. Does he have clothing reserved for special occasions? Does he update his wardrobe—or will he sacrifice fashion for comfort?))
Dalamus' wardrobe mostly consists of simple, practical clothing. This includes long-sleeved lace-up shirts and tunics, vests, and close-fitting trousers/pants. His shirts are usually lighter colors, such as white or cream, and his trousers/pants are darker colors, mostly dark browns and black. He has quite the love for well-made boots, and those are always dark in color; dark brown or black leather boots. His casual clothing has minimal decoration or embroidery, partly because he does not want to spend the extra money, and partly because he thinks he looks amazing enough in it already.Â
He does have a few pieces of clothing reserved for more formal occasions, but celebrates so few holidays that he rarely wears the outfits. These pieces of clothing have a bit more decoration, but it is still nothing overly flashy. A bit of embroidery here and there, but otherwise similar to his casual wardrobe.
Dalamus has had the same wardrobe for a long time, and sees very little reason to change it since it is what he is comfortable in. He enjoys looking at more fashionable clothing, but does not like to draw attention to himself in such a way as to wear anything fancy. He can appreciate fine fabrics and designs most definitely, but his wardrobe remains simple. He thinks he looks amazing, and anyone who disagrees must be blind, according to Dalamus.

My last nightmare was quite a while ago. I should be fine... Yes? I should be. I do not need to depend on some medicine. I am a grown mer. Only children whine about nightmares...
Gods, but what if it is another bad one...
Fine. I will prepare the tea, I suppose. All that I must do is leave the comfort of my bed and go up those painful stairs.
Or perhaps I will just forgo sleep.

For the last time, I am not some gods-damned vampire.
Did I, at any point, imply that you were one?
I have no desire to toil with the likes of a foul Daedric Lord.
"Oooooh!" Clavicus Vile teased, then laughing. “Soon you’ll be hitting me with a handbag."
