     The ripple of discomfort that flows through Lin Ling is more instinctive than anything on purpose, because it's not like he's scared of Nice after seeing his ghost of all things pop up—okay, maybe a little scared, but that's besides the point—, but because the chill that a spirit brings is mandatorily icy and awful, even if the spirit itself is not. Although the words themselves make Lin Ling cast Nice a helpless look, unable to do more to comfort the ex-hero even if he tried. 

     "Are you talking about you?" Comes the hesitant query. Lin Ling turns back to his papers, shuffling them for the nth time for absolutely no reason. He may have been preoccupied with a certain blonde before Nice's words pulled him out of his thoughts. "Because you can technically grow higher. Have you ever tested the limits of... you know..." Lin Ling awkwardly gestures to... all of Nice. "Your current, uh, situation?"

A low groan. Lu Guang stares at his phone, puts it aside, then his phone vibrates with several more notifications of what he knows will be pleading emojis.

He heaves out a sigh and closes his eyes briefly before finally deciding to grab his phone and text Cheng Xiaoshi back.

Apart from Lyney and Lynette, receiving gifts from others is a rare occurrence for Freminet. Mostly because it didn't feel right to accept things from others without offering anything of use back. And what if in future, the favour they ask for in return isn't something he can fulfill?
