Vanitas is gifted his own keyblade armor set by Ventus which he wears on his left bicep and the shoes. The armor is more of a symbol of forgiveness than anything because originally, keyblade armor is supposed to help defend against darkness when traversing between different worlds. The shoulder guard and shoes are heavily inspired by the talented @yung-rage who made some keyblade armor designs that you should totally check out.
