This is my family; Ep1
“Come here babe, I wanna show you something.” Caught off guard for indulging in a recent book I picked up, doing a quick check how far am I into the book, “9 chapters left.” I whispered to myself. Taking a quick glance only to realised it was already pouring heavily as my dad little poise living room was darker than I could imagine. I took a deep breath and thought to myself what could be more interesting than my book and peace as I hurried to identify the place where the voice came from like a little detective, I glanced through the empty kitchen and empty rooms along the hall way thinking where are my three other step brothers and my dad. I shrugged and walked silently towards the last room which is at the end of the hall way realising it was my own bedroom, I peeped my head in and couldn’t find anyone. Hesitantly, I walked into my room with smooth white walls and my proudest furniture in the room, my makeup desk filled with black and white makeup brushes. Some squeaky clean, some dirty brushes with foundation dried up at the brushes screaming for a good bath and I constantly slipped my mind, as usual. My blinds still down, as usual. The concrete floor made my room felt really sleek and neat. Well, only I felt that way not my family. Walking pass my door, I turned to the rest of my room facing my queen sized bed with white fresh sheets just replaced, I noticed my eldest step brother, Shemar, holding a rectangular chocolate cake with "congratulations!" Written on a white chocolate piece and gently tipping over so that I could see it. I glanced around and quickly identifying the rest standing around him, my two other step brothers, Lukas and Mark with my Uncle; Leo and my dad; Sylvester. "Surprise!" Aloud they said with a big grin on all their faces. I smiled with a huge confusion, Leo walked towards me with a pearly grey, neatly iron thousand dollar suit with a thick black tie, tied neatly by his experience along with a matching pants. I glanced down and saw his baggy black socks with a small hole on his right feet giving freedom to his small toe, as if it was a worm wiggling out of its home. I gave him a cheeky smirk as always, he embraced me tightly and I could smell his musky cologne; it has to be from Chanel I thought to myself remembering I bought it for him for his 48th birthday last year. Soon to pick up a fresh scent from his Shiny slicked back hair like David Beckham's, gelled neatly and people could see clearly he was a neat freak with his comb lines engraved in his glowing black hair. He cut the embraced short and held me by my both saggy biceps and smiled at me. "Well, I heard someone have been accepted to their school scholarship?" With his thick and threaded arched brows, I gave a quick giggle saying "aww, you guys are too sweet. And yes daddy, you need not tell the whole world.", peeking pass Leo muscular build that was obviously blocking me from my dad's view. "Well, we practically only have this as family. So, I didn't tell the whole world but only family." With his deep and musky voice, reminding me that daddy adopted me along with Shemar, Lukas and Mark separately and Leo was daddy's Best Friend thus we refer him as our Uncle. Daddy single handedly raised us in a little house that was huge enough to store three cheeky adults like us. Feeling thankful and loved, I charged into my aged but surprisingly, muscular dad into his arms. I flung my arms around his strongly build waist and whispered "thank you daddy, I love you." I returned me a huge warm hug and rewarded me a short but long enough kiss on my forehead "you deserve this. Love you too." With my right arm still around my dad's waist, I turned towards my dashing brothers, and gave them a hug each, rewarding me a peck on my cheek each.
