Keith had almost forgotten there were things he'd needed to do. It was easy to lose track of time in space. He'd always found it easy to lose himself to the stars. Especially now, with the Lion's day and night cycle turned off to conserve power, and his body aching just enough that he'd left it behind.
Black should be yelling at him. Red would be if she could. But none of them really had to energy anymore. He stared out beyond his knees at the stars. They hadn't changed in all the time he'd been watching them. If it weren't for the subtle glow of the monitors, he wouldn't think they were moving at all. Just, lost in space.
He didn't want to move. Everything was heavy and far away when he did. Tight and pulling and his skin didn't fit as well as it had a year ago. He shifted nonetheless and winced. Maybe they'd run out of food and die out here. He should go first, that was what good leaders did, and he had the least waiting for him back on Earth. Black rumbled disapprovingly in his ear, but it wasn't like she could anything. No one could ever do anything. He'd always been alone, and he'd been fine. He'd always been fine because he needed to be fine. Because what other option was there?
And he was fine. He was breathing. Even if he didn't know the last time he had moved. The stars welcomed him. They drew him in. He missed them.
Kosmo nuzzled his hand, whining softly. Keith felt his lips quirk up gently. He ruffled the wolf's fur. He whined again, pulling softly at Keith's sleeves. "Where do you need to go pup?" Keith asked, voice cracked and weak. When was he last time he spoke?
Kosmo whined louder and tugged. Keith stumbled from the chair. His legs screamed. They'd been asleep. Even before that they'd been upset. He didn't know why they'd been upset because they always were anymore.
Kosmo teleported before he could fall.
Not a full link because it didn't feel long or complete enough to justify that. I'm tired. It'll get more complete later
