James and Keith but they had a situationship back at the Garrison when they were teenagers. James who had internalized homophobia and wasnât out of the closet, so he insisted on keeping what he had with Keith a secret.
James who would overcompensate to keep their peers from finding out he was gay by doubling down on bullying Keith/picking fights, while being affectionate in private. Theyâd end up in each otherâs dorms with matching bruises, falling back onto the bed, lips and teeth clashing, hands pulling on hair and shirts.
Keith who always knew James was bad for him, but had been conditioned to believe this was as good as itâll get for him, that any love he gets will come with a catch. James treats him like a dirty secret, degrading him in front of their peers like heâd never held Keith at night. Keith doesnât think he deserves this, he doesnât naively think James is a good (sort of) boyfriend. He knows this is toxic, heâs not stupid, but this is how itâs always been for him and how itâs always going to be.
Keith who got tired of the bullying and the fights, the push and pull. Who finally broke things off, not because he finally saw his worth, he just grew tired of chasing after the rare moments of gentleness, he gave up on ever being loved by anyone in that way.
James who got worse after the âbreakupâ, who fucked up any second chance he could have had. Whoâs world stuttered to a halt when Keith left the Garrison, and shattered completely when Keith went missing a year later. Realizing heâd never get to mend things with Keith, heâd never get to apologize, not knowing if Keith would ever come back or if he was even alive.
James who truly did love Keith, he just wasnât ready to accept that part of himself, and ended up hurting his chances in the processâŚ.
Iâve been thinking a lot about this⌠I want to write it but idk if I have the time/energy/skill to do so. So have my thoughts instead.

The first time it happens, Lance wasn't sure what had happened.
One moment Keith is confessing to him, saying his undying love, then suddenly, Lance is waking up, reliving moments he swears he had just lived.
DĂŠjĂ vu at large.
Same battles, same conversations, exact same days.
Same.
Same.
Same.
Even the confession is the same.
Yet again, Lance is waking up. Just in a different moment. Different day, but reliving to that point of that same confession.
Confused, worried, and unsure, Lance has to figure out why this is happening and how to stop it.
Is it the moment itself that makes him relive these days? Is it something about the confession that resets him?
So he forces Keith's confession to not happen that day.
Lance acts ill, avoiding Keith, all the while heart pounding with want to hear Keith's confession.
He doesn't restart.
But the next day, when Lance's curiosity wins out, when Keith cannot hold out for another day before spilling his guts, Lance finds himself back in time.
Now Lance is pissed.
He hurries to Pidge.
All in hopes of some logical or mathematical or overall intelligent solution to why this is happening.
Pidge is intrigued. Invested in this theory of what could be, or could not be, happening.
Of course, Pidge has to test it all.
Why wait until the confession to test it? Perhaps something building up to that point of Keith's confession is what causes the occurrence of Lance's time jump.
So Pidge gives Lance a code word to use, if he ends up back in time.
That way, if Lance does jump back in time, Pidge will believe Lance from the beginning and work all the faster to fix this time error.
Thus, they drag Keith out of training. Causing him to be confused and wondrous as to what Pidge and Lance would need him for.
Except, Pidge is too eager to not be blunt in this situation.
A plan, Pidge concocts.
Lance will confess first. After all, Lance hadn't ever had a chance to say his feelings first. And maybe, if he does, perhaps it will prevent the time jump.
One can only hope.
Of course, it isn't how Lance ever planned to confess his feelings for Keith. Let alone, now of all times.
But he bucks up the courage for it, if it means he won't be jumping back in time any longer.
And when Lance lays his feelings out bare, telling Keith his deepest truth, it's so freeing.
So heart pounding, soul lifting, freeing, to still be in the moment. To watch Keith's eyes widen and cheeks darken. To realize his confession will not jump him back.
Until Keith is returning his feelings.
And Lance is waking up, back in the past.
Lance wants to cry.
To break down and pound his fists into his bed with misery. To scream out in frustration. Because for some reason, the catalyst in all of this time jumping, lies with Keith's confession.
Those three words that start and end Lance's happiest moment.
Over and over and over.
Lance tries to keep the time resetting from happening.
And over and over, he fails.
The attempts grow with his frustrations.
Until one day Lance slaps his hand over Keith's mouth, telling him to not confess.
He can't take one more jump back.
Lance just tells Keith what has been happening. And of course Keith thinks he's being a bit crazy about it. But with enough time, and repeating the exact words Keith was going to say to Lance, Keith relents.
They can be together, happy and with the best feelings ever.
The only catch: Keith can never say those three words.
So they work around it. Keith sees Lance's stress over possibly hearing those words, that he doesn't even dare to say them in another language. Doesn't write the words down.
Lance confesses his love to Keith every day.
Keith expresses his love in every way he can outside of those words.
Actions can hold as much power as words.
Gifts can give the same euphoria.
Words similar, but not the same, are his weapons to use to confess his undying love.
Anything to let Lance know that he loves him.
And it seemingly works well.
Until years later.
When Keith makes a mistake that ruins all of that happiness.
He never meant to do it.
Keith never meant to strip them of this happiness they had forged together through all the near misses and years of near perfection.
While lying beside Lance, caught in the euphoria of it all, he confesses.
Keith has just enough time to see the happiness on Lance's face turn to shock, then fear.
Lance has just enough time to see the sorrow in Keith's violets before he wakes up, years back to Voltron.
Lance just cries.
He couldn't fault Keith for the error, for uttering the three words that brought their whole world to a shattering end in the same way it brought its beginning.
But at the same time, he wasn't sure how many more times he could do this.
How many more restarts could Lance suffer through before even Keith's love wasn't enough to make it worth it.
How many more times, before Lance learned that it was better to have never known Keith's love, so he wouldn't know how painful it was to live without it.
Okay! *pops kitsune knuckles* picture if you will. Shiro and Pidge are hanging out in a field of bioluminescent wildflowers under a beautiful night sky. Pidge, being the smart cookie she is starts pointing out the constellations and star systems in the sky, her eyes shining beautifully in wonderment. Shiro smiles warmly at her and just wraps her up in his arms and sets her on his lap, holding her. Shiro is happy that Pidge is happy. Kinda silly and sappy, i know. BACK TO THE VOID!

Galra features Keith, an injured Lance, and a budding relationship not so secret anymore.
Things were going smoothly. Everything was going to plan.
The Bladeâs mission was simple: intercept the ship carrying quintessence, then, secure it.
No one could have expected the small explosion to happen in the storage room â a new protocol to stop the Bladeâs and Paladins.
The Paladins were informed instantly yet werenât told everything until the day before Keith was supposed to re-join them for a while.
On the video call, everyone could see the full extent of what had happened.
The scar on his face had been tinted purple, his teeth elongated â his canines a prominent feature now. His ears now looked more like his motherâs and his lower back was now sporting a tail. It was clear to the paladins that Keith was unaware of how to act with these new features.
They didnât mention it, not even when he returned to the ship.
Well, all except Lance.
On the outside, it would seem like Keithâs new appearance was just extra firing material for his little jests and jabs. But when it was just the two of them, lounging in the comfort of each other in their private rooms, it was different.
Lance complimented Keith, teased him. Lance would call the tail wrapping around his waist cute, the way his ears twitched adorable. When he took to braiding the other manâs hair, he made sure Keith knew it was softer than ever and fun to play with.
(And he had to admit that the teeth were kind of a turn on).
Every night, to no fault, Lance did this in some way. And he didnât mind that he didnât get the same thing in response. He learnt long ago that what Keith did was small gestures and awkward compliments that normally had him blushing more than Lance.
Apart from some odd jobs, it was a couple of weeks before the paladins had their next big mission.
It was a rescue mission and they took Matt with them. So, everyone split into pairs in an attempt to secure the ship and get the captive rebels out.
It seemed like an easy enough mission. Except for the fact that their maps were incorrect and their scanners werenât working properly. Meaning the wrong pair went to the wrong place.
Keith was currently stuck in the cockpit, fighting his way through many enemies with his bayard and BoM sword. Lance was there too, staying mainly behind cover while he blasted the enemy, looking out for Keith.
They were doing fairly well.
âGuys, we got âem.â Matt announced over their coms, signalling it was time to get the hell out of there.
âWeâre on our way,â Lance replied, moving closer to the exit. âKeith!â He called out, trying to get the others attention, fully aware of the small handful of enemies coming their way again.
Turning slightly, Keith paused before rushing to the exit to make sure Lance also had a clear path.
He couldnât get his legs to move fast enough.
One of the fallen enemies still had some fight left in them, yanking Lanceâs feet from under him, causing him to fall onto one of the control panels before hitting the floor. Lance was left breathless, his head pounding.
Groaning, he lifted his blaster, ending the fool before he pounded.
Unlucky for him, the body collapsed onto him, successfully winding him further.
Keith, who was quickly filled with anger and worry, hurried to get Lance out of there as quick as he could.
The rest of the team was worried of course. Even more so when Keith refused to let go of Lance, going as far as to take him back to the ship in the Black Lion.
Red followed behind like a lost puppy.
When they got to the ships medical section, Keith and everyone else was shooed away and sent to bed while Coran dealt with the injuries.
Keith begrudgingly left and had an excruciatingly long and restless night.
When morning came (well, the closest thing you could get to it on a ship in space) Keith grumpily made his way to the kitchen only to find the coffee maker with only dreads left in it.
With his mood even more sour than when he initially woke up, he trudged into their lounge area to find everyone already there, chatting happily. He didnât have time to focus on anything else as his ears picked up on a very specific voice.
âGood morning grumpy.â
The rest of the paladins quieted down as they watched Keith light up and all but race his way to the spot next to Lance. Their bodies sat flush against each other, Keith awkwardly craning his neck so that he could shove his face into the crook of Lancesâ neck.
With something mumbled against his neck, Lance smiled brightly, linking their hands together contentedly.
âSo, Lance-buddyâŚâ Hunk started to say.
âAre you two going to elaborate on this?â Pidge interrupted Hunk, asking the question bluntly because they knew no one else would.
keith kogane has not called nor phoned you in two weeks. two weeks. thatâs long enough to leave you believing he is not planning on getting in contact ever again - you have been added to the long list of people with whom keith has cut off and abandoned because he canât handle getting close to people.
fair enough. you played it off as if you didnât care, shrugging any time anyone asked you where keith was, how keith was, why keith had suddenly disappeared off the face of the earth. you knew keith well - this was just what he did. his past didnât let him have tight relationships with people, and you hadnât been fool enough to think you could be the exception.
nonetheless, his sudden disappearance wasnât enough to stop you from picking up the phone at four in the morning.
âkeith?â your voice is groggy. you deepen it a little bit in your attempts to make him feel bad for waking you up at the crack of dawn. outside, even the birds are asking what the hell youâre doing up at this ungodly hour.
ây/n.â keith doesnât sound groggy. you want to punch him. âare you awake?â
  âno.â
  âi need a favour.â
âand i need a million pounds.â you pause. âand milk. i used the last of it last night.â
âiâm serious. where are you right now?â
  you frown. âmy house. why?âÂ
he inhales deeply, takes a moment to reply. itâs this space of silence that has you realising perhaps this isnât a joke, perhaps keith really is in trouble. slowly, you sit up, rubbing the sleep from your eyes as your brain immediately fumbles through the long list of possible reasons behind keithâs unexpected phone call.
   âare you alright?â you ask.
âi need you to come pick me up from the police station.â
you pause. well, in truth, his confession isnât as shocking as youâd originally thought it would be - keith could have honestly been calling you from the grave, asking you to go and pick up his discarded corpse, and you wouldnât have been surprised. this seems light.
âright...,â you drawl. âdo i even want to ask?â
âyou can ask questions when you get here. and please hurry - the police men keep looking at me.â
âthey will do if youâre in custody. thatâs their job.â
  âare you coming or not?â
you sigh. âyou owe me one.â
âi know i do. i always owe you one.â before you can question this statement, the gruff voice of a stranger echoes through the phone, ordering keith to cut it short. keith - being keith - doesnât even bother saying goodbye before he swiftly hangs up, leaving you a puzzled mess.
you shake your head, stuffing your phone in your pockets. you murmur to yourself as you pull on your sweatpants and an old, oversized hoodie, swearing this will be the last time you ever do anything for him, swearing he doesnât have a hold on you, promising yourself that you fell out of love with him ages ago.
  ---
heâs standing there like a lost puppy. you burst out laughing.
you roll down the passenger side window just so he and the police officer can hear you cackling in the drivers seat. keith catches a glimpse of you and immediately blushes bright red, but he has nowhere else to go. heâs accompanied by a police man outside the station, the two of them standing in the rain. the police man holds an umbrella, but keith is standing outside of it because heâs keith and god forbid he rely on any person of authority for anything.
so, heâs drenched, and heâs pouting, and his black hair is falling in his eyes. his hands are bound by a pair of handcuffs. honestly, youâve never seen him look so pathetic.
you park the car in front of the station and hastily scramble out, pressing the back of your hand to your mouth in any attempt to stifle the laughter that you have already exposed upon pulling up to the scene. the police man sees you and starts forward, and you know you should feel all types of intimidated, but you canât keep your eyes off keith. heâs glaring at you through his hair, and when you get close enough to see him clearly, he mouths the words âshut upâ in your direction.
you turn to the police man. âofficer.â
âyouâre here for kogane?â he asks.
âi am indeed. terribly sorry if heâs been a bother.â
the police man hums, taking a folded sheet of paper out of the belt around his waist. he unfolds it and thrusts it in your direction, immediately pointing to the first question: relation to detainee.
you snicker. âdetainee. oh keith, this is real.â
âplease answer the question,â the officer demands.
âmy partner.â keithâs voice zaps through the air, and suddenly the rain is quiet. your head snaps up, eyes zoning in on where he stands; heâs staring at the police officer, but you donât fail to notice the way he awkwardly rings his hands in front of him. ây/n is my partner, alright? we live together.â
the officer taps the page. âthen write that down.â
you do so, hands suddenly trembling though youâre not sure whether itâs because of the pouring rain or something else entirely. you fill in the rest of the collection sheet, stating your name and occupation and age and all the stuff that seems most irrelevant, considering you have no plans to be back here any time soon.
and then keith is uncuffed, and the two of you are clambering into your too-small and too-warm car, and keith is going silent all over again.
usually, youâre good at filling in silence. thereâs definitely not a shortage of things to talk about, considering youâve just picked him up from the police station for a reason you are still unsure about.
however, you keep remembering the lie heâd told to the officer, replaying it over and over in your head, trying desperately to figure out if he was just saving his own ass or not.
keith leans his head against the window and mumbles, âi told kosmo to pounce on a group of boys who were throwing rocks at my kitchen window.â
  you choke on air. âkeith.â
âturns out one of them was, like, fifteen, and he got his mum to call the police.â
âkosmo didnât do it, did he? theyâll put him down if he hurt anyone.â
keith shook his head, rubbing his eyes. âno, but they heard me telling him to, so they freaked. iâve been in there for, like, four hours.â
ânow i think you deserved it.â
keith scoffs. âsorry if i woke you up. you were the only person i could think of.â
you raise a brow. outside, the rain batters against the window and the sun is just starting to peak over the horizon. itâs still too dark to turn your headlights off, but itâs light enough that, when you glance over, you can watch keith nibbling his bottom lip as unspoken thoughts wisp through his head. he has on such a keith expression, and you wonder if you ever actually left his side at all.
âiâm also sorry for - you know - disappearing off the face of the earth like that.â
to this, you say nothing. part of you wants to say itâs okay, but the wiser part of you knows that isnât true - itâs not okay. keithâs mistrust of people isnât okay. the fact that he thinks itâs okay to just ditch anyone who shows even an ounce of evidence that they want to stick around isnât okay, and you wonât be the idiot to get it into his head that itâs fine.
you tap your fingers against the steering wheel.
keith bites his lip, glancing at you. âare you mad at me?â
âyou sound like a five year old.â
he lowers his voice. âyou angry?â
you snicker, glancing at him. at the sound of your amusement, a fleeting smile crosses his lips, and before either of you can really understand whatâs happening, youâre laughing. full laughs. laughter you only shared a few times, because keith never got like this. and maybe it was just the sleep deprivation, or maybe he really was happy right now, but you werenât going to question it. not right now.
keith hiccups himself back to reality, shaking his head so little droplets of water splatter against your arm. you pull your elbow into your side, sending him a cheeky glare that he simply rolls his eyes at.
and then you ask the question thatâs been playing on your brain for the entire drive, because keith is happy and maybe happy keith will be easier to talk to than sad, gazing-out-the-window keith.Â
âwhy did you tell that police officer i was your partner?â
keith tenses. suddenly, itâs like the laughter never happened. never before have you seen someoneâs giddy smile fade so quickly, replaced by his usual look of shield, shield, shield, donât talk to me.
he scratches the back of his neck, turning his gaze back towards the window. outside, the dirt road passes beneath you, and a farm house goes by. âi donât think friends are allowed to sign a detainee out. i didnât want to take any risks.â
you narrow your eyes. âiâm pretty sure a detainee can be lifted by anyone. it doesnât-â
âi didnât want to risk it-â
âyeah, well, thatâs a stupid ass excuse, because youâve been arrested before and you would know-â
âalright, so many i kind of told the officer that you were my partner and youâd be picking me up.â he groans as if this sentence has exasperated him. âi donât even know why i did it - it just came out, and then i couldnât back out of it because heâs a fucking police officer.â
you grip the wheel a little tighter, unsure how to respond. thereâs a million things you want to say, a million things you want to confess, like how you melt every time keith looks into the sun and you can look at the violet of his eyes without the added storm of anger and discomfort that always seems to cloud over them; or how youâve been in love with him for months and heâs never noticed because haha surprise! keith kogane has no feelings and heâs completely oblivious to everything around him, and you have never stood a chance with him before, and-
âitâs not that bad of a cover up.â keithâs voice is a mumble, barely audible over the sound of your heartbeat and the slash of rain against the windows. he shrugs, awkwardly glancing over at you. âhe believed it. i think we make a good looking couple.â
you choke again. you wish you could convey surprise in a more attractive manner, but you canât always get what you wish for. âthatâs a very bold statement to make.â
keith shrugs, looking out the window again. âitâs my opinion. make of it what you will.â
âi will.â you pause. âi think we make a good looking couple, too.â
keith stiffens. âgood. weâre on the same page then.â
  âare we?â
keith reaches over, and your heart stops in your chest when he takes one of your hands from the wheel, placing your hand flat against his thigh. you cannot turn to look at him, and itâs torture, but you bask in the feel of his fingers tracing a feather light trail along your palm, up each of your fingers before gliding back into the middle of your palm, where he rubs a tiny circle into the flesh. he then clasps his own hand against your own and twines his fingers with yours, as if thatâs where itâs always meant to be.
it fits perfectly. strangely, so does the entire situation - it just fits, like this is a puzzle piece of your life and keith has just found it hidden under a table or something, and heâs just slotted it right into the story that is your existence and now the big picture is complete and everything just makes sense, and-
âplease concentrate on the road,â keith whispers.Â
you flick your eyes to him for only a brief second, but itâs long enough to catch him staring at you. he has a playful little smirk on his face.
you pry your hand from his grip and slap it back on the wheel. âyouâre the distraction.â
  âin a good way?â
you swallow. âkind of. depends if we crash or not.â
keith hums, settling back against the car door, not once breaking his eyes from your face. he idly plays with his fingers when he says, âso i guess now isnât a good time to kiss you, is it?â
âoh god, you didnât just say that. thatâs so gross. thatâs so cheesy. you know what, give me a second. iâm turning the car around and weâre going right back to the police station, so officer friendly can-â
âyou babble when you get nervous. are you nervous?â
you inhale, pursing your lips. after a minute, you say, âplease donât kiss me while iâm driving. you can wait till we get out the car.â
keith chuckles. âi think i can hold off for that long. but step on it a little bit, yeah? weâre on back roads. i think weâre safe to speed a little bit.â
you roll your eyes, stepping on the accelerator a little more nonetheless. âthis is why you get arrested, keith.âÂ

Blue Roses |Bad Boy! Keith x Flower Shop Worker! Lance|
Pairing: Lance McClain x Keith Kogane
Genre: Fluff, slight smutÂ
Warnings:Â just some making out and slight dirty talkÂ
Summary: Lance works at a flower shop in which his grandma is the owner of. Heâs there every day without a single complaint, loving to be around the flowers and helping people show the ones they love them with a simple gesture such as flowers. He wished someone would show their affection towards him with flowers but it seemed that day would never come. One day though, a mysterious stranger shows up in his shop looking beyond handsome. Turns out the stranger liked him and they had a bonding moment. Now, the story of their love growing and flourishing must be told.
Part:Â 5/?
okay, so let me let you in on a little secretÂ
Keith and Lance?
TOTAL WRECKSÂ
theyâre so very, very nervous and excitedÂ
they couldnât eat breakfast or lunch from how excited they wereÂ
Lance wouldnât shut up in the gc with Pidge and Hunk to Pidgeâs dismay
Keith kept texting Shiro and Adam questions about dating and going on dates; luckily for him, both of them thought it was so cute how nervous he isÂ
eventually, the time cameÂ
Keith had to go pick lance upÂ
he texted Lance for his address and took a deep breath when Lance sent itÂ
Keith looked over the route there and realized he didnât live that far away, ten mins away at mostÂ
he walked out of his apartment and got his motorcycle from the parking garage
he then zoomed off to Lance's place
it was probably the fastest heâd ever drivenÂ
when he got there, he quickly pulled his phone out to let Lance know he was there
when Lance came out, the air left both of their lungsÂ
Keith had done it
he was wearing his leather jacket, no band-aids covering his wounds, AND his hair was pulled back into a small bun
if Lance could, he wouldâve combusted right there just like he said he wouldÂ
Lance's face was covered in a blushÂ
okay, but Keith was having the same issueÂ
Lance was looking pretty gosh darn good himselfÂ
he wore a blue button-up that made his eyes pop from where Keith was parked several feet away
the blush made his tan skin look so smooth, only making him even more handsome
by the time Lance reached Keith, the boys finally remembered how to breathe
Keith could now see that Lance wasnât wearing any makeup to hide the freckles dusting his cheeks
Keith wanted to kiss every. single. one.
âHi,â Lance squeaked nervouslyÂ
âHey,â Keith breathed outÂ
it was then that Lance noticed that Keith had his piercings inÂ
Jesus Christ
Keith really was trying to kill himÂ
he had many piercings on the ear that was facing Lance, a lip piercing, an eyebrow piercing and holy christ what if he had a tongue piercing???
Lance inhaled shakily as he shook his head
âChrist, Kogane. You really pulled through,â Lance would say to break the silence that followed after their in awe shy greetingÂ
Keith chuckles in that deep way of his as he shrugs, offering Lance his helmetÂ
âIâm here to please, babe,â Keith replies in a flirty tone, remembering their texts from this morning
Lanceâs blush gets worse, much to Keithâs pleasure, as he lightly hits Keithâs buff armÂ
Keith only chuckles and motions for Lance to get onÂ
âHop on, lover boyâÂ
Lance whines in his head at how cute Keith is, climbing on behind himÂ
Lance starts to question where his helmet is and when Keith tells him that he only has one helmet, Lance immediately goes to give it back to him but of course, Keith tells him that Lanceâs safety comes first
before Lance can argue with him, Keith is telling him to hold on tight and taking offÂ
Lance wraps his arms tight around Keithâs waist, letting out a girly scream
Keith laughs and slows down a bit to not give Lance a heart attack
Lanceâs grip loosens but was still tighter than it needed to be
His face was buried in Keithâs back by his shoulder, giving him a freebie to take in Keithâs scent
besides the obvious answer of leather, he smelt like a car garage. you know, motor oil, grease, gasoline. it must be his jacket that he wears to workÂ
that smell was faint thoughÂ
what Lance really smelt was his cologneÂ
it smelt like Axe body spray but not like an annoying amount that makes you gag
Lance was so focused on Keith that he hadnât realized that they stopped
âAs much as Iâd love to have your arms stay wrapped around me, we have a reservation and Iâd rather not lose itâ
Lance snaps out of his thoughts at the sound of Keithâs voice, quickly getting off
he almost falls off but he manages to save himselfÂ
and that blush was back again
âSorry,â he says quickly while looking at the ground
Keith finishes parking his bike before getting off and smiling at Lance
âDonât beâ
Keith starts walking towards the door and Lance quickly follows after him
Keith laughs a bit as he stops, turning to look at Lance
Lance blush goes scarlet as he looks at Keith with panicked eyes
âWhat? Whatâs wrong?â Lance spews outÂ
Keith chuckles and steps closer to Lance, making his heart beat wildlyÂ
âYou might not want to wear this inside,â Keith says softly before knocking his fist against Lanceâs head where the helmet wasÂ
Lanceâs ears go red out of embarrassment, glad the helmet was hiding themÂ
Why was Lance acting so flustered? He was supposed to be doing that to Keith!
Keith chuckles and takes the helmet off for him, kissing his forehead once it was off
Lanceâs eyes widen, knowing he was as red as a tomatoÂ
Keith comes back over to him when heâs done, holding in his coos at how cute Lance looks
Lanceâs hair was an absolute mess now and Keith knew if he figured it out, heâd complain about itÂ
Keith hums when he reaches him, reaching up to fix his helmet hairÂ
Lance just stares at his face, eyes studying how handsome he is
Keith finally looks into Lanceâs eyes when he finishes with his hair, freezing at Lanceâs gaze
they were so close
likeÂ
closeÂ
before either of them could decide what to do about their closeness, a carâs horn goes off and scares them
they move away from each other before shuffling inside
they take their seats and start to chat about random things
they were both relieved that it wasnât awkwardÂ
when they order their food, Lance orders a lot
when the waiter leaves and Keith jokingly comments on it, Lanceâs reply was that he warned Keith that heâs a pig
Keith then tells him that heâs the best looking pig heâs ever seen thenÂ
they both laugh and then start to talk againÂ
after eating their food, they decide that they would go to the parkÂ
they go outside and they feel that the air was a bit chillier now that the sun has gone downÂ
Lance shivers but doesnât say anythingÂ
Keith hums as he takes his jacket off and throws it over onto Lanceâs head
âHere,â he says simplyÂ
Lance wouldnât show it but he was ecstaticÂ
He quickly slips it on and lets out a happy hum, it being warm and smelling like KeithÂ
âHow clichĂŠ,â Lance jokes
âWant to walk to the park?â Keith asks in response, not embarrassed one bit about being âclichĂŠâ
Lance nods his head and flashes his signature smile, starting to walk to the parkÂ
Keith walks alongside him for a bit, having an internal debateÂ
does he hold his hand? wrap his arm around him? is it too soon for this stuff?
but they like sucked faces just like yesterday so ??????
unbeknownst to Keith, Lance was having the same internal war
he gave him his jacket so it wouldnât be weird to hold his hand, right?
they both decided to grow a pair at the same time and move their hands to grab the otherâs
they ended up wacking their hands together and jumping at the sudden, abrupt contactÂ
they chuckle and look at each other, smiling as they grab each otherâs hand properly this timeÂ
Keith gives Lanceâs hand a squeeze and Lance swings their hands a bitÂ
both of their faces are red once more
when they reach the park, Lance instantly heads for the swingsÂ
he sits down and instead of Keith sitting next to him like Lance thought he would, he goes behind Lance and starts to gently push himÂ
Lance smiles like a goon as he swings his legs
eventually, they decide to stop
Lance stops swinging and Keith sits beside him on the other swingÂ
they hold hands again and stare up into the sky to stargaze
they stay at the park for hours, moving from the swings, to the slide, to the monkey bars, and even to the grass
they talked about everything imaginable, everything from something simple like their favorite colors all the way to if aliens exist
that last one ended up being very lengthy
when Lance let out a yawn, Keith decided he should get him home
he leads him back to his motorcycle and when Lance offers to give him his jacket back, Keith declinesÂ
âYouâll get cold,â Keith explainsÂ
Lance pouts and responds with, âBut youâre sitting in front of me. Youâll get coldâ
it apparently wasnât up for discussion, just like the helmet situation
Keith just got onto his motorcycle without another word but with a reassuring smile
Lance gets on eventually and Keith takes him homeÂ
Lance gets off the motorcycle once they reach his house, turning to stare at Keith
he bites his lip and looks away when Keith just stares at himÂ
he wanted to kiss Keith but wasnât sure if it was okayÂ
âSo, uh...goodnight,â Keith says awkwardly, having the same question as Lance
Lance tries to hide his disappointment with a smile and nodding his headÂ
âRight. Goodnight. Thanks for tonight. Text me when you get home so I know you didnât die in a fiery crash,â he says cheerfully as he takes off the helmet and slides it onto Keithâs headÂ
Keith thanks Lance and tells him he will be carefulÂ
Lance starts to walk towards his place when Keithâs voice stops himÂ
âLance, you forgot somethingâ
Lanceâs brows furrow as he turns back around, walking back over towards himÂ
âI did? What?âÂ
before he could contemplate further on what he couldâve forgotten, Keithâs lips were gently meeting hisÂ
Lance was surprised by this kiss just like the first timeÂ
he also noticed that this kiss was different than the first oneÂ
the first one was hot, passionateÂ
this one was soft and slowÂ
Lance hums and wraps his arms around Keith while the other placeâs his hands on Lanceâs waist
Lance couldnât help but smile a bit into the kissÂ
they pull away after a couple seconds, their faces still very close togetherÂ
they stare into each otherâs eyes, not wanting to let go of the otherÂ
âYou know, that kiss was very good, donât get me wrong, but I think I like the first one we shared better,â Lance says somewhat playfullyÂ
Keith smirks before slamming his lips back against LanceâsÂ
now this was what Lance liked
he liked feeling Keithâs tongue fighting against his, kissing so hard that their teeth clash occasionally, and-
wait a secondÂ
Keith does have a tongue piercing Â
before Lance could stop himself, he was moaningÂ
Lance instantly regretted it when Keith pulls awayÂ
Lance blushes darker than he has all night, his heart absolutely droppingÂ
âI am so sorry! I-It just slipped out! I felt your piercing and I-â
Lance is cut off by Keith chucklingÂ
okay, so now Lance was absolutely mortifiedÂ
this is itÂ
heâs going to die right here
he wasnât even able to think of another way he wouldâve liked to go out before he felt Keith cradling his faceÂ
âLance, baby, calm down,â Keith says and oh god, his voice was deeper nowÂ
JeSUs CHrIsT
God really must have it out for Lance
âHey, I said calm down. Why do you look like your panicking more?â Keith says playfully with a deep chuckleÂ
God, even his chuckle was sexyÂ
Lance clears his throat and looks away, still scared out of his wits that he just ruined everythingÂ
Keith hums as he turns Lance to look at him againÂ
âAh, I see. You think I didnât like your moan?â Keith asks as if heâs just now piecing it togetherÂ
Lance bites his lip hard and nods his head despite the fact he wanted to deny itÂ
Keith shakes his head and uses his thumb to take Lanceâs lip from his teethÂ
âDonât bite your lip. Thatâs my job. Now, use your words, babyâ
Lance was sure he just jizzed his pantsÂ
is this real? this was too good to be true. is he being pranked? Lance forced himself to not look around for camerasÂ
âY-Yes...â Lance stutters out quietlyÂ
Keiths hums and looks at him like heâs proud of himÂ
is he proud of him?
âYou got it all wrong, baby. I pulled away for a completely different reasonâ
Lance thought he was going to stop there and not tell him more when Keithâs head is suddenly beside hisÂ
âI stopped because I knew that I wouldnât be able to stop myself from going further. I mean, câmon, baby. How can you moan like that and not expect me to-âÂ
Keith cuts himself off and takes a deep breath, letting it go against Lanceâs ear and making Lance shiver
âWithin do time,â he whispers into Lanceâs earÂ
he pecks right below his ear and pulls away to look at Lance
so uhÂ
Lance.exe has stopped workingÂ
Lance stands there as still as a statueÂ
well, other than his shaking from how turned on hard his heart was beating and rushing adrenaline through his veinsÂ
Lance stares at Keith like a fish out of water, silently gaping at himÂ
Keith smirks at him and chuckles lowly, using his fingers to close Lanceâs mouth he then gives him a short, sweet kissÂ
âIâll text you when I get home, yeah?â Keith says to try and get some sort of response from Lance
Keith only chuckles when Lance blushes even more, if possible, his brain finally starting to function againÂ
he apparently still couldnât talk thoughÂ
Keith only chuckles before kissing Lance one more time and leavingÂ
Lance stands there for a long time before finally going insideÂ
as he was walking to his room, he realizes he still has Keithâs jacket
Lance squeals quietly like a happy girl, spinning aroundÂ
he runs to his room and launches himself onto his bed, squeezing his pillow and grinning like a foolÂ
Keith was just as happy as Lance
he smiled the whole way homeÂ
even when he got home, he was still smiling like a fool
But this gotta be one of the oddest things that has happened to him.
He waits for his best friend on one the booths on the corner, right next to the window. Heâs playing idly with the menu the waitress had handled to him earlier but he doesnât know whatâs inside besides coffee.
Keith hums under his breath as he waits, flapping the menu against the table as he looks around once the pigeon he had been staring at flies away.
Thatâs when he notices the pair of baby blue eyes staring at him from the booth in front of him.
He freezes, more out of surprise than anything, and he doesnât have the time to do anything else before he hears a small gasp and those blue eyes disappear under the boothâs edge.
Keith blinks to himself in confusion before he feels his own lips twitching in amusement. Hah, cute.
He shrugs the event off, though. There no more baby blue eyes staring at him for a couple of minutes and he goes back to play with his menu, clicking his tongue every now and then to entertain himself.
But then he lifts his head for the sake of it and he catches those baby blues once again. Itâs less than a second because then they are gone, again, and Keithâs lips are curved into a full grin.
He doesnât look away this time. Instead, he gets curious about what would happen next. The little girl, judging by the long pigtails on each side of her head that bounce every time she pops up from behind the booth, stares right back at him after five times she had hide.
She shows him nothing more than her baby blue eyes, eyebrows, forehead and a mop of brown hair. Keith smile softens before he raises one hand and waves awkwardly from his seat.
He hears a small giggle, something that makes him oddly proud of himself, and then thereâs a tiny hand popping up from the side and waving back at him.
Thatâs cute.
Sheâs gone right after, hiding once again behind the booth and Keith knows better now than to look away. Itâs not even ten seconds later before she pops up again, giggling immediately when her eyes fall on Keith and her baby blues shine happily.
They turn it into a game after that and Keith finds himself having fun as he plays along. He decides to take the menu on his hands as his own hiding place, lifting it up to cover his entire face before abruptly slamming it back down on the table every few seconds.
He chuckles quietly as the little girlâs giggles turn louder, a few squeals of excitement being added as the minutes pass by.
The little girls do the same as him, adding a few funny silly faces every time she pops out, allowing Keith to see her cheeks, nose, and chin.
He mimics her, doing his own silly expression every time he puts the menu down and the twist in his expressions just earns him more excited giggles.
Keith takes it as approval.
They keep playing for a few more minutes, going back and forth until both of their faces hurt from smiling too hard.
Heâs coming down from his own snickers behind the menu, mind already running with a possible new expression he could make. He hums as an idea strikes him with the ugliest goofiest expression he can think of and then he puts the menu down.
But instead of meeting familiar baby blue eyes, he meets a darker pair.
Keith freezes with his face stuck in what he had planned to show to his playmate. He feels the way his cheeks start heating up with embarrassment when the guy stares down at him with an arched eyebrow.
Maybe if Keith doesnât move a muscleâŚ
âAre you...okay, dude?â
Nevermind.
âFine!â Keith yelps, dropping the menu on his hands as if it burns him on the table before he shoves them back into his armpits, hunching himself. âJust, fine, hah, thanks.â
Thereâs a giggle and it makes him snap his head towards the sound. His eyes fall once again on a pair of baby blues, the little girlâs face out in the open next to the guy. Sheâs beaming at Keith.
âHeâs funny, Uncle Lance,â the little girl says as she puts her hands on her mouth and giggles. âI like him.â
âDo you, now?â her uncle says slowly, smiling fondly as he reaches out and strokes her hair. Keith stares at the action, heart doing funny twirls inside him when the guyâs eyes focus on him once again. âThanks for, you know, playing with her while I was getting out food.â
Keith purses his lips, still aching to curl himself into a ball and disappear under the table. He knows itâs a futile plan since he has two pairs of blue eyes staring at him but he can dream.
âNo problem,â Keith says quietly, nodding awkwardly at the guy as he rubs the back of his head sheepishly. âShe, uh, sheâs great at the game.â
âSee, Uncle Lance?â the little girls says, hands on her hips as she glares at her uncle. âI told you I was good! Sylvio cheats!â
âNadia,â her uncle laughs quietly, shaking his head as he pats her head.
Keith lets out a small laugh. âShe, uh, sheâs really good; I never stood a chance.â
âI donât know, man, I think youâre not giving yourself enough credit,â Lance says carefully, a playful glint growing on his eyes as he narrows them his way. âYou have quite the pretty face.â
Keith inhales sharply, mind screaming at him to stop blushing but itâs not like he has a say on the matter, brain.
âThank, thank you?â Keith mumbles startled, blinking fast as if to come back to reality.
âUncle Lance, being pretty is not even the point,â Nadia huffs, rolling her eyes in exasperation but neither of them takes it the wrong way.
âMy bad,â Lance mumbles before he grins at Keith. âAre you up for another round? First one to laugh pays the ice cream,â he says playfully, shifting on his seat until heâs sitting comfortably behind the booth.
Nadia squeals with excitement, quickly following her uncleâs actions and hiding behind the booth, waiting for her turn.
Both teens chuckle quietly at the behavior before their eyes meet and their cheeks turn red. Keith quickly grabs his menu, lifting it up so it could save him from the embarrassment.
But the quiet chuckles he hears from the booth in front of him makes his heart leap.
Keith, Lance comes to find out, is a poker when drunk.
âBoop,â the fearless Black Paladin of the Black Lion, an essential member of the universeâs most powerful weapon, mumbles quietly as he pokes, once again, Lanceâs nose with a goofy smile. âBoop!â
Keithâs also cute.
âOkay, alright, enough poking,â Lance chuckles fondly as he tightens his grip on his husbandâs waist. He hums as he takes out his house keys and opens the door to their house slowly.
âBut youâre squishy,â Keith laughs softly, reaching out to pinch one of his husbandâs cheeks as they walk inside. âSquish.â
âYouâre so drunk,â Lance mumbles quietly as he gently pushes the hand away and closes the door behind them. He smiles fondly, though, brushing his husbandâs hair away from his face before letting his hand rest against Keithâs cheek. âSo drunk.â
Keithâs face seems to shine brighter at the words.
âDrunk in love,â Keith throws back happily with a confident grin, leaning forward until his lips ghost over Lanceâs. âDrunk on you.â
âOh boy,â Lance whispers, swallowing dryly as he looks from Keithâs eyes to those lips. âYou donât play fair, baby.â
âBut Rey is a good baby,â Keith says softly as he frowns slightly in confusion. âHeâs the best baby.â
Lance sound that sounds between a dying whale and a hyena.
âYouâre killing me,â Lance whines as he shakes with laughter. âYou really are killing me, amor.â
âSh, babyâs sleeping,â Keith shushes him, glaring at him with no heat as he slaps him on the forearm. âSleeping baby.â
Lance tries not to snort at that, because never mind that their son is at a sleepover with his parents on the other side of town.
âOh, right, the babyâs sleeping,â Lance gives in as he raises his free hand in surrender. âLetâs get you to bed too? I can see someone else is sleepy.â
Keith hums, eyelids dropping tiredly as he nods. âYeah, okay,â he agrees softly as he snuggles closer to his husbandâs warmth and sighs contently once his face is completely hidden on the brunetâs neck. âWarm.â
Lance smiles tenderly, turning his head just enough to drop a kiss on his drunk husbandâs head. âI love you so much.â
His smile widens at the soft press of lips against his skin that silently tells him what words canât at the moment.
