What I find fascinating about my own rabbit hole of learning about Vlad III is the brutal and cruel lies they made about it that is spread and misinformed as the “truth.” I cannot speak for others but 10 year old me surely was in awe that there was a “Romanian prince who impaled everyone who opposed him.” It’s wrong, the picture they painted of him based off of propaganda, but I would be lying if I said it isn’t what made me interested in the first place. So I suppose everyone comes from different places of wanting to learn about Vlad, all from different perspectives, and it truly is all interesting to see!
I think everyone starts at that point since that is what we learn in school about him (in Romania too) but the more you research him on your own the deeper you go, but your goal heavily influences what you will find about him. If my main goal was finding out about Vlad's love interest right now this blog would have been filled with Lisa, Anastasia, Katerina and many others since I wouldn't really care about historical stuff that much, it just needs to be a nice love story with Vlad. Or If disliked Vlad, I would only quote propagandistic pamphlets and negative references about him, you have something positive to say about him and you even have the documents? Don't care. they are most likely fake + you are brainwashed by communists. And these are only 2 branches people can go once they learn about the impaler guy. I'm really curious how all of those branches will evolve after CD gets more popular and a standard to have when it comes to Vlad, people will have all the material they need to make theories based on real documents but also it will be hard to create theories from thin air since excuses like "It from a secret document" "it from a lost chronicle" "I just don't trust you enough to show you the original" won't work on people (I'm talking about the future people, they work just fine right now)
This may be a dumb question but is there any kind of documentation to show how Vlad III was as a person versus him as a leader? Of course, as a leader he was a strong and bold man, but has anyone spoken on his personality or how he was as a friend?

Unfortunately No since it was a scarce thing to do, most people were focused on his warrior side and that's why it is the most praised and pointed out about him. The only one who kinda mentions something about Vlad's character is Pope Pius II , who said "Oh how different is a man's heart compared to his looks" So Vlad was a good man with a warrior look to him.
Is it true that Vlad was known as the Beloved before he was ever known as the Impaler? Many thanks for answering questions.
Vlad Dracul was the one known as The Beloved, Only his enemy use the word "Dracul" instead of "Dragul" Dracul means "Devil" in Romanian but it is also a metaphor for someone charming, lucky or even crazy. You can see here that people back then used mostly "Dragul's son" "Dragulia" name.
Vlad The Impaler was renowned for his skills as a commander, praised even by his enemy. Even in Niccolo modrusa's description he is described as a "Hot-headed warrior"
