The idea of Shubman in a Princess Diaries esque au slaps so hard! Who do you think his mum is? Anushka? 🤭 But I love the idea of Virat § Shubman having a strained parent child dynamic as opposed to a fluffy one. Shubman has grown up with nobody but his mum, and never known anything about his dad, who he was, what he did, why did he leave. Shubman's just bitter that even though his dad split with his mum, he never made an effort to contact his child. No calls, no birthday gifts, nothing except radio silence. Then on his 16th birthday, Virat rocks into his life and commands him to learn how to act like a prince because he's the sole heir to the royal throne. Shubman is really offended and he'll be damned if he's going to obey the orders of his estranged dad who never showed up for the past 16 years. Cue rebellious teenager Shubman who deliberately flouts etiquette at every royal meeting, and quietly exasperated Virat who regrets all his life choices and all the grief he gave to his parents as a teenager, because that's definitely where Shubman gets his attitude and his sass from 🤣🤣
