Currently I'm working on a big project where I will be talking fairly in-depth about the animals of The Orb Vallis, so I've been spending all my free time out catching animals and recording their stats and appearances (because as you may or may not know - there is more variety than the simple three subspecies)! As what seems to always be the case, the project is taking longer than I thought it would, so in the meantime have some screenshots I thought were fun and worth sharing while I slowly go insane out in the snowy fungal landscape! 🙃

This fine lady here is currently my record holder in weight for bolarolas, coming in at 19.7 kg! I think she is both offended by me getting in her shot and for calling her heavy.

She even blew raspberries at me! lol

I was following this virmink trail and had to laugh when I saw this one footprint up on the mushroom stem. It just immediately made me think of how kids walk through school doorways and jump up to slap their hand above the door!

After spending so much time out on the Vallis you are bound to come across some things that... just don't seem right.

Like this submerged bolarola, for example! It was just walking around like normal - eventually was alerted to my stunned presence and then dove into the ground...but all while under the coolant.

And this call point smeared on the side of this root instead of on the ground like it usually is.

To be completely fair I think I've been putting the Vallis through its paces - since I usually stay out there for two to three hours a session, so I can't blame it for the slightly weird things that happen from time to time lol

That's all I really have to share for now. I've been putting in huge amounts of effort every day to try to keep this project of mine going, and I hope the result is something that people will find both informative and interesting!

Why "no", Ordis? Virminks are so cute.
