Baz had a tendency to run when things got overly complicated. And if running wasn’t an option, then he liked to ignore it and act like there was no complication. That was exactly what had been going on with him and Remy since the night that he’d nearly confessed his love for her. He was past the days of casual hookups or flings, he’d been able to commit to one person, and yet he was still incapable of letting himself fully dive in to saying those three words. No matter how much he felt them. The good thing was that with his new movie set to release soon, he’d been able to throw himself into interviews and shoots, distract his mind so that whenever they did have some alone time, most of the focus was on catching up and asking about how work was or plans or anything else.
Tonight was one of those nights where he was alone, dressed to the nines, that charming smile plastered on his face as he walked through the event. Another celebrity launching a wine brand. To be fair, it wasn’t all that bad, or maybe it was and he was just desperate for anything to get his mind off of how much he wished that he could have just brought Remy with him. Baz had only reached the bottom of his first glass when he saw her, and for a brief moment, he wondered if it was just his eyes playing tricks on him. He blinked - nope, Remy was still standing in a corner of the room. A surprised smile slowly crept onto his face at the realization that she was there to surprise him. He wasn’t mad, how could he be when he’d told her that the second that she no longer liked the idea of them keeping things under wraps, that he’d be okay with making it publicly official. Of course, he’d thought that they’d figure it out together, maybe make a social media post about it first instead of this, but he could deal with this too. He’d already been walking over to her, nearly reaching her before he stopped in his tracks - - because suddenly she wasn’t standing alone anymore, another actor was guiding her away to a table, a hand on the small of her back, a stupid grin. And whatever smile had been on Baz’s face completely wiped away. What the actual fuck was she doing? Frozen for another minute as he tried to regain some composure, unclench his jaw, will himself not to cause a scene in the middle of a party. A deep breath before he finished off the remnants in his glass, plastered that smile right back on and then finished the rest of the walk over to their table. “Good evening!” He slapped the other actor on the back in greeting, his other hand clutching onto the top of Remy’s seat. “Are you two enjoying your night?” Doesn’t actually listen to what the other is saying as his eyes focused on Remy instead, eyebrows raising up in question.
