Alright sum total thoughts of putting viren and Kpp’Ar in a regency setting are as follows:

Okay I imagine this as a universe with very little in terms of magical ingredients so.. the mage takes the toll.. but they have each other, so it's all good?
So I discovered I know nothing about regency settings, except what I garnered through being forced by my flatmate to sit thro multiple watchings of sense and sensibility in turn for inflicting David Lynch on them.. is that a historically accurate film? Not sure, it's certainly less of a mindfuck than Mulholland Drive tho..
They have slightly more floppy clothes I guess..
Anyway there might be another if I can be bothered to ink it properly..

From what grave did I come? Of what evil mixture was I compounded?
Alright, this is my last picture from an originally conceived regency AU, now switched to a more forgiving, and honestly more to my taste gothic AU.. oh yeah..
I now have an even vaguer time frame about which I know very little historically to play with.. but who needs to know anything about gothic other than brooding mansions, stormy weather and slightly insane men resurrecting things that should stay dead?
So…
This is the point in the story after Kpp’Ar got consumption and Viren heals him at huge and irreversible costs to his smokin' good looks.. he subsequently spends a lot of time skulking in the basement and examining/getting possessed by Kpp’Ar’s antique mirror..
Fortunately?? They discover they can communicate with the ghost of Aaravos through it, and that his oddly well preserved mummified corpse lies buried somewhere deep in the Katolis catacombs..
And one dark and stormy night they decide to raid the grave and attempt to bring him back to life so Aaravos can fix Viren..
Does this go well? Ummm..
Have a few hundred years of death done much for the sparkly elf’s sanity? I’ll leave you to figure that out..
Or his irresistible looks? Trust me ain’t no one gonna be thirsting for this reincarnation.. well maybe Viren..
But as was pointed out to me, these guys are glugging laudanum like water and all their hare-brained schemes seem like a good idea at the time..
Kpp’Ar will probably stretch that thin and elastic line between wildly irresponsible and plain ol' deranged, and Viren uh… will probably stretch many lines while feeling an ever growing sense of dread, like he's walked into some Edgar Allan Poe story by mistake.. or something?
Oh.. and I really want them to have Claudia.. but I haven’t figured out a way to do that yet.. not Soren.. haha sorry Soren but honestly you wouldn’t last five minutes in this AU anyway..
Like a lot of other dumb stuff that exists in my brain this probably shouldn’t see the cold light of a grey and gloomy day cracking in through the curtains..

If you're wondering how tall Kpp'Ar is... he's very tall. That combined with his dark mage status means small children run from him every time he walks down the street, and that's just the way he likes it... at least that's my personal head cannon..

Still, fortunate discovery - Frankenstein aka The Modern Prometheus is a regency book… crushingly my knowledge of when the regency period actually was turned out to be as poor as the rest of my history knowledge, but resurrecting the corpse of Aaravos because.. it just seemed like it would be an interesting scientific experiment? Err.. sorry? is pretty much the vibe I want for these guys..
