192521, a Series II 2600 Spider was the 18th car manufactured in 1964 and purchased new by John Mendenhall of Seattle, Washington for his new bride. 43 years later, preserved in remarkable time-warp condition, it was decided that 192521 would receive a sympathetic restoration and freshening, while retaining as many of its original components possible. It’s said that Mendenhall wanted a Black over Red 2600, but by 1966, production of the 2600’s had stopped and this particular car was still available new on a showroom floor in Italy. In memory of Mendenhall, it was decided to refinish 192521 in Black. A ‘no-expense-spared’ restoration was then methodically carried out in order to preserve its original components. It’s said that all parts and hardware were measured and recorded so that every nut and bolt went back to its original location, producing one of the finest 2600 Spiders on the planet. ________________________________________ #alfaromeo #alfa #2600spider #spider #vintagerally #classicalfa #restoration #rally #chasingclassiccars #driveclassic #driversource (at DriverSource) https://www.instagram.com/p/CcltqE-pr3i/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
