The new man is settling in!
The Texas giant vinegaroon is found in northern Mexico, and far West Texas. These arachnids squirt vinegar from the tip of their whip like tail, and feed on insects.
Does anyone have any suggestions for a name?

I celebrated last night with my friends and bugs, of course! We had a some people come over and do an invertebrate presentation— best birthday ever!!
I hand sewed those sequins onto my dress, they’re made of beetle elytra! I also handmade my earrings and headband! 💚

Very cool find from last spring- a Florida vinegaroon (Mastigoproctus floridanus) that was hiding inside a rotting log.
despite her impressive size, this rarely encountered Florida endemic is actually the smallest of the 3 vinegaroons in the US, and some of the Mastigoproctus species from Mexico and southwards get even larger.
and yes they’re called vinegaroons (among other fun names) because they squirt concentrated vinegar from their butt as a chemical defense
