Little story
You are walking in Russia and Viktor notices you, he's waiting for his dad.
"Hey y/n" he said
"Oh, hi Viktor" you said
*Viktor's phone is ringing*
"Hi dad, yes i'm here and also y/n. She was walking here"
"Y/n? I wanna see her" Ivan said
"Y/n, my dad wants to see you"
"Me too, i want to see Ivan" you said
You didn't see eachother for months, you missed him because you were at Philadelphia, you had to be there for a reason. So you decided to go back to Russia (I know they are in Ukraine in the movie, but i want them in Russia) you listened to your heart and went back to Russia. Because of Ivan.
And your eyes were like...it was like you longing for him. Viktor saw it.
"Are you okay y/n?" he asked
"Oh yes" you said
Then Ivan appears.
He looks at you...you both feel that feeling like months ago, before you left Russia.
He was so happy.
"Y/n"
"Ivan..." you said then you ran in his arms
Viktor surprised
"I missed you Ivan"
He touches your face
"I missed you too" he said
At his home
You, Viktor and Ivan sitting on the couch, he tells Viktor about your and his relationship. He didn't know that you and his dad love eachother.
"Oh...i am glad that you make my dad happy"
"Thank you Viktor"
"I'm glad that you are back" Ivan said
And you hug him.
Later at night
You are sleeping in another room and you have a bad dream, you scream then wake up. Ivan hears it then wakes up to see what happened. He came in your room then sits on your bed.
"What happened y/n?"
"Just a bad dream"
Ivan came closer to you, you cuddle to him.
Viktor hears you and his dad.
"Is everything fine?" he asked
Ivan nods his head, Viktor goes back. Now only you and Ivan.
"Don't worry y/n i'm here" he kiss your cheek
"Stay with me at the night" you say
"Okay i will, as you want" he said
You kissed him, he kissed you back.

After doing some thinking on this, I think the most interesting movie in the Creed-Rocky universe is āCreed IIā:
While most of the movies in the franchise are good, Creed II fascinates me since itās actually different in how it approaches the main conflict. Most of the movies follow the same formula of underdog boxer must triumph over superior opponent, while Creed II feels more focused on the behind-the-scenes drama and history.
This movie couldāve easily just been a revenge story. Adonis wants to avenge his dad, so he beats up the son of his dadās killer. However, it feels like the writers of the movie wanted to dig deeper into this. While the revenge story would be simpler and more theatrical, Creed II instead asks the audience how this would be realistically.
And the answer isā¦really sad, actually.
Youād think that Adonis would be at Kill Bill-levels of vengeful, but heās not. Instead, heās more frustrated by how heās expected to want to avenge his father. He just became world champion and yet the media is only talking about him fighting Viktor Drago. Even Donnie admits you canāt talk about the Creeds without talking about the Dragos. Sure, he does resent Ivan, of course he would. But he doesnāt have a beef with Viktor, and it shows.
Viktor wasnāt doing any better. Although he was trash talking Donnie, you can tell how frustrated he was with how he was being used to ārestoreā Ivanās honor. He hated how the Russian leaders, especially his mother, were only treating him and his father well after he started winning in the ring. None of it felt genuine, itās like he was just a racehorse to them.
When you look at Donnie and Viktorās arcs as a whole, itās fascinating just how the arcs work as an overall discussion on legacy. Legacy ends up being the true villain of the movie:
1) Donnie canāt establish his own legacy since heās chained to his fatherās legacy. Even though he has the belt, no one cared. They just wanted the spiritual successor to Apollo vs. Ivan.
2) Viktor was literally raised in hardship because of what happened to his father in the 1980s. Then, he realized he was being used as a way to restore his fatherās legacy, which disgusted him.
3) For both Adonis and Viktor, neither of them harbored any actual hate to each other. Any feelings of resentment came solely from their fathersā actions.
4) Rocky wouldnāt even put up pictures of his fight with Ivan, which makes sense since there wasnāt anything uplifting about that match. Sure, he ended the Cold War (lol) but it doesnāt change the fact that the fight was about vengeance.
5) Ivan was so traumatized by his defeat that he felt like he deserved his exiling. Exiledā¦for losing a damn boxing match. It took nearly losing his son in the ring for him to realize that reclaiming his lost glory was not worth it.
The end fight is, in my opinion, the most interesting showdown in the franchise. Instead of feeling like a battle between a hero and a villain, it felt moreā¦therapeutic? Itās like Donnie and Viktor knew that they couldnāt move forward with their lives until they got this fight over with, so thatās what they do. You can tell thereās a feeling of relief on both ends once the fight finishes since Donnie got the win over Viktor (thus ending the mediaās obsession over a Creed-Drago revenge match) and Ivan affirmed to Viktor that heāll always have his fatherās love.
I should note that thereās a deleted scene (it shouldnāt have been!) where Donnie, Viktor, and Ivan all make peace with each other. I feel like that was the point of making this sequel. Itās not a revenge story like what most people thought, itās a story of healing, past trauma, generational conflict, and moving on from the past. Thatās also why Creed III is a brilliant follow-up since, for the first time in the Creed series, itās a movie thatās about Donnieās legacy, not Apollo or Rockyās.
Basically, Creed II treated the fight between the sons of Apollo and Ivan as an obligation that needed to be fulfilled. Itās funny since that actually works as meta commentary on the audience since that was what a lot of people wanted to see when the first Creed movie was announced. Once that obligation was finished, Donnie and Viktor were able to move on with their lives and establish their own legacies, as seen in Creed III.
And thatās kinda beautiful.
āThatās a balanced breakfast over there.ā
Florian Munteanu as Viktor Drago in Creed II (2018)
The audacity of Ivan to tell Rocky that losing their fight ruined his life. Bruh, you KILLED someone. You're lucky you just got so embarrassed, you had to leave the USSR. Some people get life in jail or the death sentence. Besides, those days are long gone. You could've moved back to Russia, and most people wouldn't know who you are. But what you really wanted was to mingle with the silver spoons, and that's why you didn't want to go back.
Also, the nerve to say all his son knows is fighting. Did you entertain any of his other interests? We all see that Viktor only fights with hate because his dad made him hate the world. He might've become a biologist, or a horse trainer, or an artist, if Ivan had actually raised him with a positive attitude instead of harping on about what they lost and how it's his job to restore their glory.
Anyway, I'm very happy with how Ivan changed by the end. To me, it didn't look like Viktor's life was in danger, but it's even better that Ivan threw in the towel because he didn't let it get to that point. I'm sure it won't be easy to rebuild their relationship, but I hope they're growing as much as they can. (I was really happy to see Viktor in Creed III, too)
