With the premiere of the second season of the Next Chapter yesterday and today, I wanted to kinda talk about something that has been bothering me about our new group.

I've been enjoying the seasons so far, seeing how they're falling into their roles and learning to trust each other (especially Lysa and accepting magic and the fantastical world of the Library), but I was re-watching the first episode from season one and I have to say that it bothers me that Vikram was the one to allow Connor and Lysa to tag along on their adventures and dub them "Librarians".

The whole point of the Librarian is to be chosen by the Library, and we have a lot of lore to back it up. It's the foundation of the original trilogy and the reason why Stone, Jones, Cassie, and Eve were all called in the original series. The Library chooses and has to be chosen back. It's how you become a Librarian.

Even Charlie says that's not how it works in her conversation with Connor in the first episode

"These are all the typical physical symptoms a body goes through during an argument, but not on this level."
