THAT WAS ME! HEHEHEHEHE
Evil. Are we getting dinner?
three hundred and ninety eight: the end of winter
As my last big winter adventure, I visited Vivian at SUNY Stony Brook to celebrate her 21st birthday. Important notes: we did nothing that would fully constitute celebrating such a milestone, but we did eat some rum raisin gelato and invent a great drinking game for the Matthew Perry-Salma Hayek racist romcom, Fools Rush In, which will be put into use immediately come my 21st birthday. We giggled in her tiny college bed, which somehow fit the two of us, and thus made giggling and whispering even more enjoyable. Not a single healthy food group was consumed. A lot of bitching and reminiscing and comparing Swarthmore to Stony Brook and talking about boys and looking at boys.
In between her classes, I managed to finally meet one of the very first internet friends I ever made, Alyssa, who is a student there and it was so great to talk to her in person and hear her voice and not just see the colorful text she wrote in when we messaged each other on AIM or now, her thoughtful tumblr posts. We talked about our lives, vaguely, wondering about how we've changed since we first met - which was when we were 12.
This picture is a picture of me and Vivian when we were 12 on Halloween and I framed it in a Harry Potter frame for Christmas that year. And I used to write Harry Potter fanfiction and Alyssa was such a great writer and I met her there. That was eight years ago. In ten days, only ten days, I will be flying to New Zealand. The 12 year old me in that picture did not know that she would ever end up going to study so far away. She did not know where she would go to college and she did not know if she would be best friends with Vivian forever or if she would meet Alyssa one day. But all those things are happening and it's crazy: winter is ending in ten days and so much is beginning, I just don't know yet.

I was mistaken for 13 the other day. I’m right with ya, sistuh ):
For reals, it happens all the time. Everyone's always like "blah blah blah you'll be grateful when you're older and still have youthful looks" but I'd like if for once in my life someone actually believed I was in college.
