It feels like every year he spills more and more blood to keep his dragons safe. And with every drop, every fallen foe, every armada in flames by his command, Hiccup wonders if he's closer to being Viggo than he is to the boy he once was.
At what point does it stop mattering what you're using your ruthlessness for? The faces of warriors mean nothing when their blades are aimed at those he loves and Hiccup cares less and less about the individuals that could be changed when his tribe could be saved by their sacrifice.
