Notes on Acephale is a 3 channel video work that combines selected text from the The Sacred Conspiracy which provides a deep review on the Society of Acephale created by Georges Bataille in 1937 with low quality 'party' images taken by exo between 2020-2022.
I was completely absorbed by the text, especially with Bataille's writings on 'festival' as important 'celebrations' and 'rituals' to reintroduce the sacred into everyday life. I was intrigued by the way these texts reflected on my own thoughts towards modern party and rave.
The work was first shown in the smoking room of icon hardcore club ABYSS in Shanghai.
