The rink was quiet, the usual crowd long gone as Victor and Yuuri stayed behind for some extra practice. The soft sound of skates gliding over the ice filled the air as they moved together in perfect synchronicity.
Victor slowed to a stop in the center of the rink, holding his hand out to Yuuri with an easy smile. “You’re getting so much better at the quad flip. One day, you’ll surpass me entirely!”
Yuuri blushed, reaching out to take Victor’s offered hand. “I’m only getting better because I have the best coach.”
Victor squeezed Yuuri’s hand, pulling him closer. “Flattery will get you everywhere.”
But as Victor went to guide Yuuri into another spin, Yuuri’s thumb accidentally brushed against the palm of Victor’s hand. The reaction was immediate and surprising. Victor flinched, letting out an uncharacteristic giggle before quickly pulling his hand away.
Yuuri blinked in shock. “Victor?”
Victor’s cheeks were lightly pink, though he tried to play it off with a laugh. “Oh, nothing! The ice is just cold.”
Yuuri raised an eyebrow, unconvinced. “Cold? Victor, you’ve been skating for years. You don’t get cold hands.”
Victor turned away, skating a few paces backward, but Yuuri caught the faintest twitch of a smile on his lips.
Curiosity piqued, Yuuri glided after him, grabbing his wrist gently. “Let me see your hand.”
“Yuuri, there’s nothing to—” Victor’s protest was cut off by a surprised giggle as Yuuri’s fingers brushed over his palm again. He jerked slightly but didn’t pull away.
Yuuri’s eyes lit up with realization. “Your palms are ticklish!”
Victor pouted, but the corners of his lips twitched upward. “That’s ridiculous. I am Victor Nikiforov. I am not ticklish.”
Yuuri grinned mischievously, holding Victor’s hand more securely. “Oh, really?”
Before Victor could argue, Yuuri lightly traced his finger along Victor’s palm. The reaction was instant—Victor squirmed, a burst of laughter escaping him as he tried to pull his hand back.
“Yuuri!” Victor squeaked, his normally composed demeanor crumbling as he dissolved into giggles.
Yuuri couldn’t help but laugh with him. “I can’t believe this! The great Victor Nikiforov is ticklish in such an unusual spot!”
“Okay, okay, you’ve made your point!” Victor gasped, though he didn’t seem to mind the playful attack too much.
Yuuri relented, releasing Victor’s hand with a satisfied smile. “I’m never letting you live this down.”
Victor smoothed his hair, though his cheeks remained pink. “You’re lucky I love you, Yuuri Katsuki.”
Yuuri leaned closer, planting a quick kiss on Victor’s cheek. “And you’re lucky you’re adorable.”
Victor huffed dramatically but couldn’t hide his fond smile as they skated off together, the sound of laughter echoing across the empty rink.
