location: police station open: to all
Sheâs the last one at the precinct for the evening - itâs some sort of miracle. No really, Gwendolynâs even managed to get Kaeden to pack up and get some rest. Evenings like these are few and far in between. The Sheriff finds herself with an unexpected moment of peace and her body? It really only has room for weariness at this hour. Her eyes flutter closed for just a second and the world washes in around her, all dark and lonely grey. Even the soft buzzing lights of the Victoria Police Station turns to a white noise.Â
Gwen takes up station in the big conference room, the one with some of the best seats and some of the best windows in the joint. Sheâs got the remaining paperwork she has to finish up for the evening and itâs a refreshing change of scenery from sticking to her office. She pushes her chair to the far wall, and now ashes her last cigarette for the evening outside the window sheâs propped open. Smoke curls into wispy waves up to the sky. Â
It so happens that this room has a direct line of sight to the front door, so Gwen can see someone come into the precinct the second they do. In this case, she hears the security attendant pipe up first and thatâs what makes her look away from the case file in front of her. Gwen supposes it is just a little too much to ask for the peace to last forever. Cigarette gets ashed one last time and thrown down on the tray before she pops her head out of the conference room.Â
âCan I help you?â
