So obviously Voltron Force got canned almost immediately after production (RIP)
But it was left on a pretty major cliffhanger that has a lot of people speculating or making their own versions of S2 to wrap up the plot and explore some of the stuff the writers set up in S1, but never got to flesh out.
I kinda have this idea of Haggarium being used to create a mutative disease that's unfortunately spreading and becoming the next space zombie apocalypse. Except it's very Pidge-focus because he's my fav and I'm not even going to hide it lol
TW // BLOOD AND INJURY BELOW
I've talked before about how I think Pidge would end up leaving Arus after the defeat of Lotor (for the second time) and his passing of the Green Pilot title to Vince. This S2 starts with the same circumstances, but unfortunately Pidge gets wrapped up in this secret Haggarium outbreak unknowlingly, and can't exactly return to Arus for help. Leading to Chip, and the VF to think he's gone missing, and of course Daniel's own infection to get worse.
(Plus some screenshot edits of Pidge with long hair because is it really an AU created by me if I don't give my favorite character a completely new design?)

I had an ask earlier today about the Space Witch and Familiar AU (I really need a better name for that AU, either as a title or the type of AU) and while it wasn't exactly what they asked for, I did get sparked to draw for the AU. So, we have Katie and Daniel just getting a good night's rest. Nothing strange here, just a teen and her cat. Not secretly a witch and a cursed cadet.
ALSO! A version without the glow.
Anyway! I hope y'all enjoy this one!

Until next time!
Lance and Vince nearly wipe the Drule Empire off the face of the universe, looking for him.
Turns out he was on one of the newly re-liberated planets, amnesiac, voiceless, and the proclaimed hero of that world because he stopped an evil man from seeking godhood and bringing the kingdom he was living in to its knees.
Luckily, he regained some of his memories. Unluckily, he's still voiceless and needs to go on a pilgrimage to restore his voice because killing the bastard who took his voice didn't work.
Luckily, it didn't take that long, just a few more weeks, though Lance wasn't happy about Daniel having to do the pilgrimage alone.
Unluckily, Daniel somehow got claimed by a mechanical but sentient Guardian of that world the kingdom's people called a Divine Beast. And Black was. Not. Happy. About that. So now the Divine Beast and Black Lion are having an argument/battle about who gets to have Daniel.
Daniel is just happy to be back in his family's arms. He's just happy to be here. Lance has wrapped him in so many blankets and won't put him down but it's fine. He's just glad to remember things now, even if it's not all of them.
The people of the kingdom and Voltron Paladins watch the back and forth argument like it's a tennis match.
Allura: We should stop them, right?
Kingdom's Ruler: Meh, the Divine Beast will eventually realize She can't keep a Voltron Cadet.

This is going to be a kind of long post but its been brewing in my brain for a while
For those not in the know (which is everyone who is active in this tab, because I don't talk about myself) I am a long long time Final Fantasy fan and active FFXIV player, and normally have the game running while I watch voltron on my second monitor. And I've had this idea circulating around in my mind for a while now ever since the dev team announced the Evangelion crossover raid coming in the new expansion.
And it got the gears turning. Cause we have other precedents set in the ingame universe too (the NieR raids, the entire Sorrow of Werlyt quests/raids, Magitek, the Omnicrons, ect.) for there to be random advanced tech that shows up, including mechas (please see the G Warrior) So while I doubt we ever would get one because it just doesn't have the popularity, its not too hard to imagine it would be possible for an XIV/Voltron crossover to happen. Which led me to one questions:
If the voltron force got dragged into the world of Eorzea, what would their classes be?
Counting the cadets, there happens to be just enough pilots to create a full party (8 players, 2 tank, 2 healer, 4 dps normally split between 2 melee, 1 caster, 1 physical ranged) so thats the route i ended up going with.
I picked classes less on what weapons they already use via voltcom and more on their personalities/what would resonate with a soul crystal (the thing that lets you be a certain job in ffxiv)
Tanks (Real quick on this one, we are getting an offical split in the tanks between off tanks and main tanks, but i elected to ignore that)
Lance - Gunbreaker (GNB) - Straight up he just reminds me of our resident local main side character GNB Thancred. Lance's relationship with Daniel mirrors Thancred and his ward Ryne in a lot of ways I feel. While Keith is the leader I feel like Lance is the one who is more likely to put himself in danger so the rest of the team won't get hurt. Him being picked for a "Leader" role over Keith makes for fun. And also he gets not just a gun, but a gun attached to a sword, and thats pretty cool.
Larmina - Warrior (WAR) - Larmina was hard to pick something not because I couldn't think of anything but because there was so many jobs she could have been. I was leaning towards Ninja or Monk for her at first, but then I pivoted after remembering how early in the show she talks about not wanting to fly, wanting to fight for and protect her people on the ground, and then when Wade and Lotor are both attacking Arus she jumps over the castle wall to start fighting as soon as she see's her people in danger. That was some tank behavior. Warriors unleash a lot of hard hitting, brutal attacks with their axes, do a lot of damage and self healing, some of their attacks is just them straight up just punching the enemy. Theres a whole thing in the job questline about learning to control their inner rage through love to be stronger.
Healers
Allura - White Mage (WHM) - I don't have much for this pick to be honest. Allura was another hard pick and I needed a regen healer. White Mages are all about living in harmony with the elements of the woods. Allura is always talking about unity in the team, diplomacy, ect. It's a boring take but it's also the most in line for her.
Vince - Sage (SGE)- Vince was also rough. I ended up going with Sage because A:the team needed a shield healer and B:its probably the most techy magical job the game has, and vince is the technology magic cadet. It isn't the best reasoning but I couldn't really see any other job fitting him. And also I just kinda see him being a healer idk.
DPS
Keith - Dragoon (DRG) - I almost put keith as a paladin, and then I also gave him Viper. But I kept coming back to how he went off solo when Wade first decommissioned the lions, how he was going to originally go in alone in Wanted and Unwanted. Man is just always trying to go off alone, just like the Dragoons in game are always doing. Plus, tanks are normally the "Leaders" of the party, and the idea that Keith wasn't selected for that over Lance leaves room for some really funny shenanigans.
Daniel - Viper (VPR) - Daniel was a tough one, but then I remembered Viper exists. Vipers are hunters who's whole thing are being swift and fast in order to take down some of the deadliest monsters who roam the land, as well as the fastest feeling job in the game right now. It lines up pretty nicely with daniels need for speed and always wanting to be in the thick of the action
Hunk - Machinist (MCH) - Hunk likes to destroy, but Hunk also likes to build, as seen in The Hunkyard. Machinists get access to a wide variety of machinations to use as weapons: Flamethrowers, automatic crossbows, chainsaws, you build/summon a robot queen, they also just attach bombs that the more hits the enemy takes before it goes off the bigger the explosion and damage....yeah its a physical ranged job with its base weapon being a gun but like, cmon, this just sounds like Hunk.
Pidge - Black Mage (BLM) - My logic for this actually comes more so from final fantasy 11, where black mages like Shantotto are more the scientific minds, delving into magical research. And I think this is what would cause pidge to get selected to be BLM
And for bonus, I also did Sven and Chip since I know people love them
Sven - Reaper (RPR)(Melee DPS) - Reapers tie themselves together with pacts to entities from the void known as voidsent in order to increase their power. This seemed like it would tie into his haggarium infection nicely
Chip - Scholar (SCH)(Shield Healer) - The scholar quest line is all about an ancient city of scholars who fell to an illness that turned them into tonberries and took away their memories. If that doesn't sound like the plot to Brains idk what does
Anyways, if you read all this first off thank you and second you should share your thoughts on it or let me know if you have questions or want more details or even a proper AU. I kind of feel like this is a me only interest so I probably won't be sharing more unless it's asked for.
I also could have gone more into depth on my reasoning, but this post is already long and I didn't want to make it longer. (That and Im bad at typing things out and explaining)
What kind of cuddler do you think Pidge is with each of his team mates?
Answering the asks by order of how easy they are to type out
It's going to be ordered by how likely Pidge is to cuddle/be touchy with the team
My thoughts are long and this still isn't all of it, read more under the cut!
Hunk
Pidge NEVER stopped being touchy with Hunk, at least in private. The size difference between the two often leads to Pidge actively climbing, dangling, or otherwise just draped over Hunk because he can, and it's just habit for both of them and that's pretty much every time they're resting together or if they're in the hangar trying to get things fixed
Lance
After working under Wade both Pidge and Lance had some distance between each other because Lance's acting was just THAT good. Pidge had always been emotionally driven as a kid and not only was he already devastated by the loss of his entire livelihood, but he had to pretend he hated some of the people he cares about most just to make sure they could keep existing peacefully. He knew better, but it still hurt seeing Lance look at him with malice or like he never mattered.
While at the Garrison (in private), at most they'd just lean on each other or be brave enough to still playfully hit each other if the situation lent to it. Once they're back home though, both of them start relaxing again, and you'll often see Lance physically messing with Pidge like an older brother would. Pidge in return just rag dolls on him more often. If anything they're more prone to comedic violence
Allura
This is where things get iffy
Keith had essentially drilled into Pidge since he was young that he ought to treat Allura with the upmost respect. The only part of that Pidge ACTUALLY internalized was when dealing with her personal space. He and Allura share a sibling bond and are often arguing over little things just because they can.
What he won't do is be overly physical with her the way he is with Lance and Hunk. Allura thinks that's some hot BS and usually takes it upon herself to dangle Pidge in her arms (there's a serious height difference) or otherwise handle him like he was some kind of purse dog. Pidge accepts his fate as plaything but won't reciprocate unless they're fighting over an object or Pidge becomes the victim of Allura's romantic woes (he does not need to hear episode 35 of Keith being a shit boyfriend)
Pidge is more prone to falling asleep in her arms (as that's where she likes him most) usually when she's sitting behind him, and they're talking about whatever comes to mind. Normally topics are boring bureaucratic stuff since Pidge is often wrapped into her work as well due to his technical skills
Though if you really can't find Pidge or Allura, chances are they're in her room napping on her bed or otherwise using it as some sort of hang out because everyone else (minus Larmina) thinks it's some impenetrable fortress
Keith
Pidge doesn't touch Keith anymore. Honestly they barely speak outside of mission related business, at least without anyone else to help buffer the convo. Keith was very much who Pidge looked up to the most when he was young because they were the same, Pidge was just an unpolished version of Keith. It didn't help that Keith took it upon himself to try and instill good morals and values into Pidge by essentially taking on a responsible parent role (compared to Lance and Hunk letting him mess around until he got himself into trouble).
When Keith came back it was weird. They recognized each other, but there was such a big difference that it felt like they were looking at completely new people. Keith couldn't treat him like a kid anymore because Pidge hadn't been for years at that point, and Pidge couldn't see him as the goofy leader with his heart on his sleeve because Keith stopped being both the second he went solo (everyone agreed it was their best shot, but Keith left before they could actually make a plan).
There are no cuddles between them, there's barely even any familiarity. At most Keith will place a hand on Pidge's shoulder, or Pidge will tap Keith for his attention if he isn't listening.
Honorable Mention: Larmina
Pre-Galaxy Victory Celebration, Larmina was living with the team at the castle and took on the annoying little sister role that everyone would care for. You'd often see her with Pidge or Hunk, she got along with Hunk the best (as always) but Pidge was a kid just like her, and they understood each other best. They were practically inseparable, and the relationship Pidge now has with Allura was what he had with Larmina except he didn't care about her personal space as much as was often bullying her just because he could. He even trained her to be a ninja! She might not say it aloud, but it's her favorite fighting style because she cares about the person who taught it to her so much.
You could often find Pidge carrying a sleeping Larmina because she has an iron grip and refused to leave him presence. On rare occasions they'd slept leaning on each other after a day of just being kids with Pidge's friends.
After The Incident, Larmina felt like she lost everything, but especially Pidge. She thought they were so alike, but he ultimately treated her the same way the adults in their lives treated the BOTH of them, and she never forgave him for it. They don't touch anymore unless they're training (gotta keep up the ninja skills with another ninja opponent), and when they talk Larmina is damn near spitting venom at him and Pidge chooses to take it because he feels like he has to.
The other cadets are too new for Pidge to consider any kind of cuddles. Except at Daniel doesn't really care and will treat him his age and roughhouse with him. You'll never catch Vince doing that lol.
Don't even ask about Coran, Pidge still holds a grudge against him because of what he led to.
