been wanting to write a fic about this for a while and one day I swear I'll get round to it, but i can't stop thinking about veronica and brigita. specifically, how brigita married downwards into peasantry instead of pursuing one of the tradesmen (given that she's the stonemason's daughter). I've always thought the reason was so that she and veronica could be equal in class even if that meant lowering her own status. also, marrying martin meant she could live in the farm next to veronica's family and play off their existing relationship as familial to spend more time with her without inviting scandal. all timer lifelong tragic yuri
