Tambacounda Hospital Tambacounda Hospital is an architectural structure which embeds itself within the local community, economy, and landscape of eastern Senegal. The hospital services around 20,000 patients per year servicing patients as far as the neighbouring country of Mali. The curvilinear form of the building improves the motion of circulation and accommodates communal spaces formed by the bends of the S-curve. Passive climate design innovations - like the use of lattice-like brickwork - provide maximum protection from the extreme sun while facilitating air circulation.
