answering with: yknow the implication that aechma has cairn’s arm means that he’s been eyeing them for a long time and has planned to segregate cairn from the very start (probably because cairn is phos’ voice of reason & a stable support) and aechma might have actually planned to brainwash cairngorm from the very beginning in order to have better control of phos’ group…….. i have a huge creepy manipulative stalker vibe going on with him and i dont like it one bit

there is something weird about this. How did Aechmea know what Antarc was to Phos? And how did he know about Ghost and Cairn before Cairn told him? Can he spy on the gems? And if he can, in what measure and since when?

i personally love these conspiracy theories, but @enfphos has another idea and i find it super cool. It basically goes like this: after Ventricosus’ arc, Aechmea took an interest in Phos and has been keeping an eye on them and their partners. 

One way or another, it’s always about Phos’ partners: Antarc, Ghost, Cairn… maybe it’s a good thing Cinnabar never became Phos’ partner, cause they’d be abducted too. 

Phos is a precious pawn to Aechmea, he needs a way to maneuver them and make them do what he wants. He tried to seduce them but it didn’t work, so he snatched Cairn away from them (he was probably aware of Cairn’s condition and weaknesses thanks to Phos’ pearl eye). But what about Ghost’s arm? Cause Ghost was abducted before Phos lost their head. They were also in shards when they were brought to the moon, so there’s no way Aechmea could have talked to them. Unless he put them back together. 

@peinto has a great post about Cairn’s left arm and there are a lot of shady moments and things we do not know. Why did Aechmea want Cairn to destroy their arm? Was that their original arm? The replacement arm? Did Aechmea manipulate them just with words and actions or did he actually use some sort of potion like op suggests? 

Whatever the answer to these questions, he must have an interest in keeping Cairn close to him. In keeping them away from Phos. Phos loved each one of their partners, it would be easy for Aechmea to use Cairn as leverage against Phos.
