I talked about it a little bit in my other cabaret/ Lily of the lamplight post- but the two of them go hand in hand in my mind. I think that Feliks and Toris follow a similar arc to Sally and Cliff- This is a lot of speculation, of course, but they have a lot in common. We never find out what really happened to split Toris and Feliks apart, besides Toris joining the military and leaving, but I think that they probably had a similar argument to Sally and Cliff, with Feliks being partial to ignoring the worsening situation around him and Toris getting frustrated with this and eventually leaving him. I think it’s interesting to have Feliks as an unreliable narrator, deep in denial about how things ended between the two of them or that he had any fault in the matter at all.

Last little note but I was looking at Austria playlists on Spotify and someone had “If You Could See Her” and it made me giggle evilly.

Symptoms of Borderline Personality Disorder include: A strong fear of abandonment, a pattern of intense, unstable relationships, intense, self loathing, stress related paranoia and loss of contact with reality, impulsive and risky behaviors such as alcohol abuse, threats of self injury, wide mood swings, feelings of emptiness, and inappropriate, strong anger.

Risk Factors- Stressful childhood: many with the condition report being physically abused or neglected in childhood- or lost/were separated from a caregiver when they were young.
