Venusa are reptilian Pals (but, it should be pointed out that Pals as a whole are bizarre creatures possibly created by an ancient civilization and do not fit in with the rest of Earth's tree of life) with a distinctly serpentine body, covered in fine, smooth scales. Though they only raise their upper body off the ground, making them appear just slightly shorter than the average human, Venusas are a good eight feet long in total thanks to their elongated bodies.

Despite their frightening appearance, a Venusa would rather flee from potential danger than fight, only doing so when cornered or provoked. They can actually be quite friendly, especially to humans who successfully tame them, and are both exceptionally intelligent and remarkably curious. While their three-fingered arms are dexterous enough to explore their environment, it's their most distinctive feature that is the secret to the Venusa's success despite their shyness: the six 'snakes' that extend from their heads.

These snakes are actually extensions of the Venusa itself, not independent creatures. They're less like true heads and more like the arms of an octopus: they possess extensive nerve cords that let the 'heads' move semi-independently in response to stimulus or information, but are ultimately a set of weird extra limbs. Unsurprisingly, these snake-limbs provide a number of useful benefits for a Venusa:

As Dark-Elemental Pals, Venusas can both create toxic venom and shadowy 'darkness energy' for offense and defense, though they focus mainly on the venom aspect. While their own teeth, while sharp, cannot inject venom, the fangs of their snake-limbs can, either via bites or by spitting globs of toxic saliva and shadow magic at a distance--often aiming for the eyes to blind prey and attackers. The snake-limbs also have bioluminescent organs around the eyes that glow red when the Venusa is agitated, creating a frightening display to intimidate threats.

A Venusa's snake-limbs each have a rudimentary esophagus and trachea which extends through the limb, down the side of the head, and joins up with the main esophagus and trachea in the neck. This allows them to consume food alongside the main head and further improve respiration, but they can only swallow relatively small bits of food at a time; it is not uncommon to see a Venusa munching on a piece of food while its snake-limbs rapidly nibble away at it from all directions.

On top of that, the snake-limbs have eyes, forked tongues for scenting the air, and the ability to hear, touch, and vocalize, with all sensory information processed by the nerve cord in that snake-limb to be passed to the main brain. Unless a Venusa is asleep, it's pretty much impossible to sneak up on one, as their snake-limbs scan the environment in all directions constantly.

In addition to all that useful sensory information, a Venusa's snake-limbs provide overall greater processing power to the brain, improving things like memory recall and reflexes. The 'official' Palpedia erroneously states that a confused Venusa will ask its snake-limbs for advice, but gains nothing due to them all being the same individual; in reality, Venusas simply chat with their snake-limbs for mental stimulus and fun.

The snake-limbs are also mostly muscle and surprisingly dexterous; many Pal Tamers who have Venusas appreciate them for these snake-limbs, as they allow even a single one of these Pals to rapidly assemble items, gather food, and work in tandem to carry everything to where it needs to go with the speed and efficacy of three humans. Their natural venom can also be used in the creation of certain medicinals. Their Dark-Elemental nature also means that they can adjust their work and sleep schedules to meet any need.

As useful as these snake-limbs are, they do have a drawback: significant energy requirements. As such, despite being ectotherms, Venusas have to eat with significant regularity, and often do so quickly with the help of their snake-limbs.

WOOOO! I spent at least a week and a half on these designs and they're finally released! I do plan on making new pal designs in the future (as well as more palworld products Period), but this gives me a good start.
