I hadn’t even thought of that, I’d just been playing it off as being a male vengess, but now that I’nm thinking about it, her last husband was fiery to. 

I don’t have much to say on the tie to illusions, since you’ve covered all I can think of about it, bUt I have two things I could add to this whole ‘cooled down vengess’ idea.

One, Pedri is known to have been caught in a love triangle between Wrathia and Nevy. Wrathia, of course, is a fire and lava based character, but Nevy being water based actually makes this interesting to think about. Wrathia and Nevy had been young and in love once, but (theoretically and poetically speaking) they were incompatible. Wrathia was lava and Nevy was water, and Wrathia became power hungry and corrupt while Nevy tried to hold on to what was left of the girl before. In my dissection post about Wrathia and Nevy’s relationship, I touched on how they physically evolved over time, but I’m pretty sure Wrathia also became brighter and hotter (temperature-wise) as time went on, and it grew with the space between the two.

Pedri, on the other hand, is a lot more compatible with Nevy in this sense. Pedri is more calm, yes, but he was also symbolically cooler and able to love Nevy the way that Wrathia no longer was able to, due to her corruption as she’d grown. Like Michelle has said, Pedri is a romantic, and when he’s in love he’s in deep. 

The second thing is a sort of small parallel I’d like to draw your attention to. I don’t know what exactly to make of it, but even if it was an accident, it’s a fun little easter egg for those of us who look hard enough.

Pedri, as a more ‘cooled down’ Vengess, is hosted by Odin, a boy who’s near death experience that brought Pedri in was falling through the ice.
