We know that Ahuatli can dance -beautifully-, but has she ever taken an interest in the music she dances to? Is there any instruments she knows or wants to know how to play? What are her favorite instruments to dance to?
[ What a lovely question! Video reference: Nicole Isaacs! ]
All veildancers assist one another in performances, helping choreograph routines, designing costumes, writing music and parables. Because of this, no two veildancing performances are alike - one month's dance in Shadra's memory, each dancer clad in strands of spider-silk woven like webs, is entirely different from the next month's thunderous rain dance in Akunda's reverberating name. She loves to contribute to the oral traditions, telling tales of the loa and interpreting their deeds through song and dance alike.
Ahuatli's instruments of choice are wooden maracas, or perhaps just her anklets and bracelets that chime together as she moves. She loves to dance to the sound of sharkskin drums, jadestone flutes, conch shell trumpets, and ocarinas.
[ Thank you so much for the ask on this musical Monday, @zeehva!! ]
