I've never drawn the Vegimals before (I think), and that's mostly because I couldn't figure out whether I wanted to redesign them for my AU or keep them exactly the same.
At first, I wanted to keep them the same but now I'm leaning on redesigning.

For another hypothetical Octonauts episode in my AU, the Vegimals discovered that all of Barnacles' aerobics training videos have vanished, which really upset them. So Tunip suggests they do an investigation into who stole them in hopes of getting them back.
Then the aesthetic turns into some film noir type thing, and Tunip starts donning a detective outfit as they try to figure out the mystery of the missing tapes.
With the Vegimals being the Vegimals, some obvious shenanigans happen. I imagine they get sidetracked quite a bit. And, of course, they have a handful of suspects. And the motivations aren't hard to pinpoint. The rest of the Octonauts are really annoyed by the training tapes. What doesn't help matter is Captain Barnacles' tendency to make tapes on subjects that have absolutely nothing to do with being an Octonaut. So you definitely can't blame the crew for wanting to get rid of the excess and keep the important ones. But it wasn't anyone on the Octopod.
By the end of the episode, all tracks eventually lead to Nix being the culprit. And she did steal them. But not because she hated them. Nix is just very normal about Captain Barnacles. She does apologize and returns the tapes to the Octopod because she had no idea that anyone else loved the captain's training videos.
