I think there's something beautiful about the twist that it was actually Max, who was born in the wasteland, that came from a true loving family and community, while Lucy's loving family and community was a manifactured lie. Idk, something just so poetic about the whole thing.

The male love interest being the damsel in distress while his wife/girlfriend desperately tries to rescue him is such peak fiction and I need Fallout to get on that trope with Lucy and Max so bad. I need to see Lucy sick with worry and grief about Max, and I need him to suffer until she finds him.
