They even just up a newspost about nonfanworks.

Ngl, i am not very creative with headcanons but I do have a bit of a train of thought plotted out for this one.
I think he always had the mask since the start of the dsmp. His backstory revolves around the manhunts with the hunters, right, so I imagine it originally came from the beginning of the those. Before it got Official™, when it was just friends running around and being silly. Maybe they were kids and they each decided to have a little Visual Shtick, as kids do. George had his goggles, Sapnap had his headband, and Dream had a mask, made out of something no better than a paper plate-- costumes to go along with their little games. And over time, they got replaced and polished, etc etc, but I think the mask had always been handmade. Hand carved and painted, something he just became known for and kept up the look.
I don’t think it held much significance besides being something he always had and something people recognized him for. Like someone who wears the same jacket every day. Even back then, he probably just thought it was cool and and silly
In the early days, I'd say Dream took it off more. Like around the OG 7 mostly, but then less-so for new people. But during the later wars and after the prison escape, he never took it off. At that point, it's just to make himself look less and less like a person. Show no weakness.

Thinking about doing an AU thing. Maybe a week long event where each day is a general popular AU concept and people can plan ahead to make something for their favorite of the bunch, or the crazies could do one for each day? Idk.

Honestly. I think I need to accept that I am just not a headcanon person. I exist in the two extremes: analyzing canon, and making AUs. I tried gathering a list for you, but it was stuff so basic that it’s essentially all canon. Dream and Sapnap basically grew up together, met George later, the manhunts were a thing(which is canon anyway)- the only unique headcanon I like to subscribe to isn’t even mine. I believe it’s @/cdroloisms who suggested the idea of Dream having participated in a war at some point, to explain some of the ways that he operates. A respect for hierarchy and authority, the tactical way he approaches issues, being a great fighter ofc, etc. He’s soldier-coded. And Sapnap did Not have this same experience, and it also shows in the way he acts and reacts to things.
Tbh even with my designs of them, I’m always pretty basic with it. I find it very hard not to be, knowing it’s kinda boring. I guess I’m too focused on repeating what’s generally accepted as canon, rather than making unique designs 🤔 oh well

Before last May, I had an average of posting 5-10 art posts a month. Sometimes much more, rarely any less.
But half way through May, I got laid off from my job. You'd think being unemployed would make it easier to draw, but oh boy it did not. The average dropped to 1-4 posts a month. I certainly had the time, but motivation was lacking.
2 weeks ago, I got an offer for a new job and art productivity increased back up to 7 arts this month. Crazy how that works :]

Techno is not among the immortal. Phil finds him at a kiddo but is lowkey miserable about it, because he shouldn’t have died in the first place, but still tries to rebuild their friendship
The plot twist, the grand reveal, that everything we've come to know and understand is wrong is really cool.
The canon life system became so normalized to both character and viewer, only for c!Dream to announce at the end that it's not supposed to be that way. And we all know there was a time where it wasn't like that, it became like that, and no one questioned it until he and Punz did
