#variblune

It’s not that I have anything AGAINST the Variblune, I just like its replacement better.  It served its purpose well and was a great machine!

I just think the follow up was a better designed and more powerful vehicle for the team!

Given a choice between which one I would rather take into battle, the Varidreen wins hands down.  That doesn’t mean I wouldn’t take the Variblune if it was given to me just like I wouldn’t turn down a 1965 Volkswagen Beetle if it was given to me.  However, if I had a choice been a 1965 VW and a 2002 VW, I’d go for the 2002.  It just does more!

Wow!  Make me choose?!

As much as I love Himitsu Sentai Goranger’s original air transport (and as much as Akira does as well) I might have to put it second on my list.

It’s a very useful vehicle with all kinds of wonderful hidden gadgets, sections to transport vehicles and a powerful flying fortress but there’s just something about it that pales in comparison to it’s successor. 

The Varidreen has an overall better design and gets the EAGLE motif across much better than the vehicle it replaced.  It’s more streamlined with a fiercer look and the bird-like front and clawed housings for the rotor motors are such a great touch. 

Just look at these screenshots from its first appearance!

That’s a striking vehicle, especially from a low angle and it fits much better into the EAGLE base than its predecessor thanks to folding wings.

Plus, while the Variblune seemed to have regular propellers to push it forward through the air, the Varidreen looks to have faster, more efficient turboprops mounted at the back.
